Poll: Trump's first State of the Union garners lowest net positive reaction in two decades [W:70]

I blame their hate on the fact that hey are bunch of immature petulant children who are so mad that they lost the election that the only thing they can do is hate and lie.

what? you a Trump supporter & you still haven't gotten over the election? Wow ........

I'm disappointed that some democrat didn't jump and shout "LIAR!"

They got one coming. LOL!

Re: Poll: Trump's first State of the Union garners lowest net positive reaction in two decades

If the GOP goes beyond the Dreamers in granting amnesty, they will be slaughtered in the coming election. That is not what we elected them to do and it would be so destructive and unconscionable to do, that it would not be forgiven. I think the electorate won't like it, but they, like President Trump, would swallow hard and agree to amnesty for just the Dreamers in return for the other three points of immigration reform, i.e. real border security, an end to chain migration, and an end to the VISA lottery system for granting residency status to new immigrants.

And because that is such a really good compromise, any Democrat who would not agree to that would be hateful, hypocritical, destructive, unAmerican, and even evil.

Alas, more smoke and mirrors (I fear). Granting 1.8 to 3.6 million dreamers (depending on how that is defined) is a horrible nut to swallow BUT it is ONLY worthwhile if it truly resolves the immigration problem. Unfortunately, it does not.

Trump's brand of immigration rhetoric and his promises appeals to the nationalist snorters, but are both ignorant and tailored to keep the Chamber of Commerce happy. "The Wall" is may stem ONE source of illegal immigration, but it won't be nearly enough.

One half of all illegal immigration comes from Visa overstays. It will expand if the borders become less permeable. WITHOUT Visa Tracking and E-Verify for Employment illegals will continue to be attracted to the US.

Frankly, if they do nothing to address VISA overstays (bio-metrics?) AND require employers to verify legal status then I hope the Democrats refuse to deal. I am tired of fake and half-assed solutions (like under Reagan) that turns out to be a giant con.

Check out Trump's Twitter. You might be shocked at what that very mature and honest adult has to say.

Re: Poll: Trump's first State of the Union garners lowest net positive reaction in two decades

Are you suggesting that had he not done what he has done the economy would have taken a significant downturn in the first year? Of course it wouldn't have.

The only thing he has done that has had a significant effect is promise the wealthy a windfall which he has given them. This has pumped the stock market up dramatically being that it is a wealthy person's game but has little effect on everyone else except retirees.

Rave on. It does not change the truth of what I posted in any way.

Re: Poll: Trump's first State of the Union garners lowest net positive reaction in two decades

Perhaps...but its the right thing to do and its the grown up thing to do. Its also the reasonable and logical thing to do.

No. Amnesty for more illegals than the dreamers would just take down that huge neon sign over America flashing "Ya'll come and if you just lay low for a little while, they'll let you stay" and replace it with one twice that size. And unless we change the Constitution that citizenship will be awarded only to those born to or adopted by citizen parents, giving amnesty to the dreamers will likely trigger a bunch more of that kind of illegality but that is a risk worth taking so that both sides of the issue will get something they want.

At any rate, any Democrat who cares about America will take the deal. And then when the Democrats regain power, they can write any immigration policy they want, something they did not do with a Democratic president and a super majority in Congress when they had it.

I'm still enjoying the afterglow of seeing Clinton get her arrogant ass handed to her and I may be enjoying it for several years to come. The difference is that I'm enjoying myself and those of you on the TDS left are making yourselves utterly and completely miserable.

I don't know why you interjected your TDS into the discussion, since I was talking the TDS left. I guess that when faced with simple truth, your only possible response is "DIVERT!!!!"

But reading between the lines, immigration reform will NOT affect enforcing the law for any illegals other than the dreamers. And the President has been pretty clear that he intends to enforce the laws that Congress passed until Congress rescinds the existing law or replaces it with another. So those overstaying their visas can be apprehended and deported. As he said, neither side will get all it wants, but both sides get something, and what the President is proposing is a huge major step in fixing what has been a broken and disastrous system. I will take the deal for now in hopes that we can improve on it.

Amending this post to indicate that once the Dreamers are accommodated, citizenship should be awarded only to children born to or adopted by citizen parents and otherwise only those invited to be here on permanent residency VISAS that include a path to citizenship.

Re: Poll: Trump's first State of the Union garners lowest net positive reaction in two decades

CBS's poll has it at 75% approval among those who watched the SOTU. Neither CBS nor their viewers are know to be especially fond of Trump.

Did CBS only do an internal poll or polled only their viewers? Your partisan observation is nothing but fail.

Re: Poll: Trump's first State of the Union garners lowest net positive reaction in two decades

The Dems should take the deal and when they eventually get back into power they should vote to bulldoze the wall to dust.

No.. no. Better idea - take it apart, piece by piece, stamp, "Mr. Trump, tear down that wall" on each and distribute the pieces to souvenir stores worldwide. Have the US gov't bank the wholesale price and let the retailers mark up each piece and book the profit. That way the treasury can recoup some of the loss wasted on the sucker.

Let each piece be a reminder to the world not to make the same mistake America made in 2016.

Re: Poll: Trump's first State of the Union garners lowest net positive reaction in two decades

Actually I kinda did. Trump doesnt speak for me. Does Maxine Waters move your lips?

Ann Coulter obviously moves yours.

Re: Poll: Trump's first State of the Union garners lowest net positive reaction in two decades

Ann Coulter obviously moves yours.
Please elaborate. Does Ann Coulter for example advocate for a complete immigration solution involving legal status for all who are here? ORRRRR...are you just talking out of your ass? Again.
