Senate Democrats Seek to Protect Mueller From Being Fired

This is true, but unfortunate, and means a guy that ordinarily would be a felon if he obstructed, for now gets off unpunished.

But your theory is predicated upon a GOP controlled Congress for 8 years. There's no guarantee of that. Especially if Mueller releases charges, and the GOP ignore them.

Do you really think that democratic leadership wants to impeach Trump??? No way. Trump is the best thing the democrats have going for both 2018 and 2020.

I dunno' about the Dems. But I sure would. And if the Dems care about the country, they should.

Sadly politicians, both republican and democrat care more about retaining their jobs than the national good. Look no further than the green light given to Bush II to start two wars.

What part of "felony", are you having a hard time getting your mind around?

Don't do the crime, if you can't do the time, j-mac. It's that simple.
Amen.

Our judicial system protects people with a process, whereby their innocence is a presumption in a court of law, and peoples civil liberties are sacred. However, that process also punishes people for dishonesty, malice, and disrespect for the system itself. If you lie, obstruct, witness tamper, destroy evidence, or do other things to hide the truth, you can be punished for those things as well.

Nobody likes prosecutors that overreach like Starr, whom base their investigations on political vendettas, rather than serious matters of government corruption and abuse. But with that said, it's foolish to tamper with the legal process when you're innocent -- absolute madness. If you're innocent then simply cooperate, and invoke your legal right to remain silent or seek counsel, when in doubt, otherwise play the game like every common citizen has to, or face similar consequences if you don't.

Mueller is simply holding people accountable for tampering with process, which is absolutely part of his duty as special counsel.

Oh, is that what Mueller's doing?

Whelp. Who's ready for shutdown 2.0? It's going to be an interesting couple weeks. I for one believe the investigation should be carried out to its full extent. I also really hope that that it ends soon, regardless of the outcome.

I have seen the left carry on about Trump possibly firing Mueller since Mueller was appointed and Mueller is still there. Trump has stated several times that he has no intentions of firing Mueller yet the left continues to create drama for the sake of creating drama. Congress can't take the authority to fire Mueller away from the president. Congress isn't even going to try because it would be a waste of time (because nobody is going to fire Mueller) and it would be unconstitutional and wouldn't stand up to an argument in the SCOTUS.

Mueller is in the last part of his investigation. I would speculate (totally speculation) that he is trying to finish his investigation before the DOJ OIG releases his report on Strzok, Page, Ohr and his wife, and Baker.

I wish he would just go ahead and actually have the balls to fire anyone he ****ing pleases, including Mueller, Sessions, Rosenstein,Wray. Whoever else he wants.
According to FOX he's the chief executive he answers to no one and can fire anyone he wants. So why doesn't he?
Get rid of everyone, so far the "YOUR FIRED" TV character was just that since no one has been fired except maybe Amarosa and he did'nt have the balls to do that himself.

Yeah, let's make Mueller immune to the law of the land. On a scale of 1-10, how stupid is that?

That wouldn't make him 'immune to the law of the land'.

Why don't you ever seem to know what you're talking about?

Can you prove that he isn't? Can you prove he has done anything out of line?

It's coming from Democrats so it's an automatic 10.

That's just ****ing stupid. I hate when items not even related are thrown into legislation "just because". It's ridiculous. What the hell are the Dems thinking? Seems like they are looking for something to hold up negotiations on purpose. For what purpose?

Schumer is an ass

Seems all the Democrats, the Trump haters...and their lap dog media...have left to combat the encroaching mass of evidence against the corrupt Obama administration is to raise more strawmen.

This time they are talking about some imagined danger of Trump firing Mueller, even though Trump has said nothing about firing Mueller. In fact, Trump has said many times he wants Mueller to keep going and run a good investigation.

It's okay, though. These antics keep the useful idiots engaged...gives them nothingburgers to chomp down on...while, in the meantime, Nunes, Grassley, Goodlatte and Horowitz continue to collect evidence. While everyone is paying attention to the strawmen in their midst, heads will roll.

Can you prove that he isn't? Can you prove he has done anything out of line?

We already know that Flynn was illegally surveiled.

The law would be unconstitional. Passing it to keep President Trump from firing Mueller would make Mueller immune from the law of the land.

It's called "seperation of powers".

Yeah, it's so "imagined" that tRump ordered his WH Counselor to fire Mueller six months ago.

They have no power over this and neither does trump. He only person that can fire mueller is the AG That put him n.
Now trump can fire the AG UNtil he finds one but that is it.

Democrats have 0 power in this area.

Not to mention unconstitutional. This steps over the bounds of separation of powers.

On what? He hasn't committed a crime.

LOL!!

So the rumor says...

Anyone who believes that Trump will be convicted of anything, just hasn't been paying attention. He's rich and at the same time the most powerful leader in the world...No matter how guilty he may be....Trump is untouchable......When the law has to ask you what questions you want to answer..........#Teflon don....

We already know that Flynn was illegally surveiled.

Who was convicted of this?

Agents of foreign powers are subject to surveillance. Flynn talking to them on the phone makes him subject to this surveillance.

No, it wouldn't be, nor can you demonstrate that is would be.

It has zero to do with separation of powers.
