German police sue American woman for slander for calling them 'Nazis'

While there absolutely ARE people who have advocated actual enshrinement of laws against "hate speech" in the US, not just via social pressure, I've seen no proof she's one of those people. She is however one of those people that is definitely in favor of exerting significant social pressure against folks she political disagrees with.

It seems her last foray into the public eye was last May when she verbally went after Richard Spencer as he was working out in a DC area gym, calling him a Nazi and demanding he leave (and ultimately getting his membership revoked) (LINK)

She also went after a muslim immigrant WSJ writer who dared to vote for Donald Trump, calling her “a ‘fraud’; ‘fame-mongering clown show’; and a ‘bevkuf,’ or ‘idiot,’ in my native Urdu, who has ‘pimped herself out’"(LINK)

More and more, I'm finding it far from difficult to believe she called the cops what the cops claimed she called them as she definitely seems to be the epitome of the type of person to wantonly call someone a "Nazi" if she, in her righteous fury and mighty wisdom, believes the term to be accurate.

She sounds like a peach alright.

I have plenty of scorn for the wanna be social warriors that will yell Nazi at Spencer while he's working out or attacking someone verbally for voting for someone you don't like. How brave...

It sounds like she's been preparing her whole life for this moment.

While I disagree with the strictness of their speech laws on the subject, I understand it. How did someone with her education not know the rules about this there?

**** me this is the article that just keeps on giving...

"For a variety of reasons, I would have preferred that this happen in private. (I was thinking to myself: thanks Dog I left my humongous vibrator at home.) "

That's right....got to make a point to say "Thanks Dog I...". Because you know, god isn't real, and therefore because god is not real it makes a ton more sense to thank Dog (?). You know, instead of just using a phrase within the common vernacular that's meaning at this point is as much secular as it is religious in most forms.

At this point if I saw this woman in real life I'd honestly be surprised if she wasn't a living, breathing, caricature come-to-life

Being dead serious, she strikes me as having a bipolar disorder, and she probably needs to revisit the prescription she's using or her dosage level.

How could someone pile up that list of achievements in international academia and still be so brain-numbingly ignorant? Must be something genetic, nature over nurture. Nothing cultural could be responsible for that.

It just goes to show that intelligence and education aren't the same thing.

She's an acedemic elitest and she's mad because she didn't get her way.

Now, what was this 4000 word tirade the story references? Well here's the link. It includes such wonderful things such as her being upset they were paying more attention to her, who's bag alarmed positive for explosives, than some dude with a haircut she found problematic, or her lecturing them about how things work "in my country". Oh, and lest you worry, her tirade is rife with complaints of sexism, racism, and white privilege because of course it is.

And here's the press release from the cops (LINK):

Mind you, this woman is an associate professor at the Center for Peace and Security Studies at Georgetown, as well as a member of the American Council on Foreign Relations, Women in International Security, International Studies Association, and the American Political Science Association.

Long story short, which someone who supposedly travels as much as her should know, when you're in another country you deal with the realities of THAT country, not rail on about what happens in "my country" as if they should give a damn. And, specifically in Germany, you don't call people Nazi's, no matter how en vogue that thing is within your social circles in "my country".

I've got a friend I have known since I was 6 that now teaches at Georgetown, I cant wait to hear his take on this woman.

I have plenty of scorn for the wanna be social warriors

A lot of people will throw the term around far too much, trying to label essentially anyone that cares about social justice or progressive issues as a SJW. I'll absolutely admit, it's a term that gets thrown around way too much.

But this? THIS is a great example of it, and the reason it's so wonderfully ridiculous. In an article where she obliviously:
- stereotyped a guy as a Nazi because of his age, tattoos, skin color, and hair cut
- demonstrates her entitlement in the notion that security officials should act like service industry workers for her and that what is normal for her should just be the standard in other countries
- demonstrates her elitism by holding over foreign individuals how things are in HER country and expecting them to care

She simultaneously manages to slip-in accusations of sexism, swipes at Donald Trump, flippant declaring of others as Nazis, complaints about white privilege, and attempts to paint the whole thing as her battling against potential racism against muslims.

There's a reason I didn't refer to democrats, liberals, or the left in any other posters nor will I beyond this response....because as has always been the case for me, when you get to these kind of bat **** crazy caricatures of stupidity, it becomes less of a "right" or "left" thing and more of just a crazy wingnut thing. Any attempt to constantly tie them to a "side" is just a pathetic attempt to smear that side by association.

God bless reddit:

The Nazis will always be infamous for their many crimes:
•The destruction of the Weimar Republic
•Starting WWII
•Kristallnacht
•The Holocaust
•Forcing travellers to give up their deodorant in order to ensure the safety of air passengers

Welcome to the world of higher education.

On the contrary, I think the Germans have come a long way in their rehabilitation, by only suing. The old Germans would have just tossed her in an oven.

When I was in Germany, waving at Bundeswehr troops with your arm at at approximately a 45° angle was enough to start a brawl.

Their own citizens are not allowed to use that kind of insult.

God, I wish Americans like the would stay the hell away from foreign countries and stop making AMericans look like assholes. You are in their country as a guest, show at least semblance of respect

I believe the book on that is called "The Ugly American". About how Americans that are tourist elsewhere often make America look really bad. I definitely had my experience with this in Southern Mexico on my honeymoon on a tourbus trip. This one woman was a terror.

Please, every day I cringe being reminded of how this The Donald is the epitome of "The Ugly American" and that this embarrassment will now go down in history as a humiliation much like that which Germany still suffers.

Not for long.

Another entitled elitist liberal educator screeching about not getting special treatment because of her vagina.

Not for long.

No, she won't be fired - probably promoted for defying the patriarchy and bravely confronting Neo Nazis. Do we know this heroine's - oops! I should have said hero's - name?

The CFR is not exactly a den of radical liberalism or social justice

From my own experiences in Europe, sadly the worst acting foreigners are usually my fellow Americans. I was eating breakfast at one hotel and some old man went into a tirade because the cafe ran out of breakfast sausages.
