US drops to 8th on 'best countries' list | TheHill
"The U.S. has dropped to eighth place in U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Countries” ranking."
"This is the second straight year that the U.S. has dropped in the rankings. In 2017, the U.S. came in 7th place. Switzerland came in at the top spot for the second year in a row."
"A Gallup poll recently found that global approval of U.S. leadership sank to its lowest point in nearly two decades during President Trump’s first year in office.
The U.S. has also dropped significantly in the U.S. News rankings of trustworthiness and political stability."
It's pretty hard to be a "shining city on a hill" when everyone is looking down on you. The best form of leadership is to lead by example. When everyone is laughing and face palming at the example you're trying to set you don't have a chance. How exactly are we supposed to convince people around the world that capitalism and democracy are good things when they've obviously lead so such a **** storm of terribleness?
Time for Trump supporters to wake up to the reality that being a condescending and verbally abusive bully might make you feel good, but it's not an effective leadership strategy. It may get you elected if you focus your abuse on just the right people, but once your in charge you've burned so many bridges you can't accomplish anything.
