GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham rips into White House for Trump's change on immigration deal

Countdown to the SOTU--State Of Trump Unraveling
Well, he's making baby steps. In another thread I just posted that he's canceled Mar a Lago, and is staying in Washington. So the reality is sinking in. He can follow the Twitter trends. He also heard the questions at the White House press briefing.

Schumer has to concentrate on Trump, focusing everything on him. Trump has the power over the GOP. And Trump is in the hot-seat. He's the key. And time is not on his side.

You forget who has to vote for these changes.

oh, i don't think that they're going to vote against their cushy jobs any more than i think that they would accept the median salary, health benefits, and vacation of the average US worker.

To this I'll say that DEMs MUST make McConnellism's 'long game' their focus in 2018 ...

i wouldn't turn down the job, but an election every two years? man, i don't know. seems like you'd always be running. i'd do it, but i would prefer the senate.

there's this assay at work that's pretty difficult. when i started there, one of the dudes i work with said "if anyone asks you to train on this assay, punch them out, turn around, and walk away." that's sort of what the presidency looks like to me. i look at senators who try for the presidency like a horror movie where the entire theater is yelling "don't go in there!"

We're having trouble keeping mayors and municipal councilors because they have to go to the polls every three years. I don't know about a job where you have to be re-hired every two years, how much money you need to raise you have to be slightly twisted

GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham rips into White House for Trump's change on immigration deal

In Sen. Graham's view, Trump reneged on the bipartisan immigration deal primarily due to the machinations of Stephen Miller, Donald Trump's senior adviser for policy. Miller's views on immigration are identical to the far Alt-right.

Graham needs to put a bill on Trump’s desk for him to veto before he starts blaming the WH. Right now the onus is on him and the rest of the Senate to get something done.

This finger pointing crap is useless.

Ah, fair enough then. Yeah, I was focusing on the immediate task-at-hand.

Compared to Obama's authoritarian approach, Trump has been far more accommodating and interactive on the immigration issue

"independent contractor."

A delusion.

He couldn't even win his own state in the 2016 Primaries :lamo

i doubt that he'll be president. of course, my record isn't flawless. i predicted that Republicans wouldn't choose Trump as their nominee, as well.

Being disingenuous goes with the territory when it comes to Graham.

He knows damn well that Trump had four conditions he would not budge on when he told them to put something in front of him to sign. So...what does he and Schumer come up with? Something that disregards his conditions.

Trump got pissed at him and Graham only has himself to blame.

I haven't watched much of the news today. I was wondering what happened to the $100,000 per person party at Mar-A-Lago tonight.

Only because he has absolutely no clue what he is doing. During the last week and a half, this much has been clear.

Trump contradicts self repeatedly in immigration meeting - CNNPolitics

If Trump were going to be very accomodating and interactive on immigration, he wouldn't get so excited every time somebody mentioned the word "wall."

He can't even listen to "Get Low" without getting a boner.

Skeet, skeet, mother****ers.

Maybe President Trump should just issue an EO? Oh, wait, that ignorance is how we got DACA (speaking of not knowing what someone is doing).

As you mentioned every 2 years; we've outgrown that #. Make the House 3 years to correlate with 6 from the Senate. Make a 6-year term for POTUS with one term only; to come back as a POTUS 6 years later if they want to;

After 12 years, we'd have only 4 elections at the federal level, versus six now; with the expectation that the House would get more done the middle year ...

What happen to Trumps promise to initiate term limits for Congress? Oh ya, the Don read the part of the Constitution that explains how the Amendment process works.

I am guessing that, as a business man used to do business deals, he is a bit confused about the politics of it all, the panting after votes and power.

then he should have good, strong people to guide him. Not a guy who was a cashier last week at Bob's Fish Mart. /sarcasm

I'm just sitting here eating popcorn, wondering why everyone is so angry.

He found out that Congress votes on Congress matters. If I agree on anything, it is that Congress shouldn't be in charge of keeping themselves pampered.
