GOP lawmakers demand that 'alarming' memo on FISA abuses be made public | Fox News
A four-page memo circulating in Congress that reveals United States government surveillance abuses is being described by lawmakers as “shocking,” “troubling” and “alarming,” with one congressman likening the details to KGB activity in Russia.

Speaking with Fox News, the lawmakers said they could not yet discuss the contents of the memo they reviewed on Thursday after it was released to members by the House Intelligence Committee. But they say the memo should be immediately made public.

“It is so alarming the American people have to see this,” Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan said.

“It's troubling. It is shocking,” North Carolina Rep. Mark Meadows said. “Part of me wishes that I didn't read it because I don’t want to believe that those kinds of things could be happening in this country that I call home and love so much.”

Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz said he believed people could lose their jobs after the memo is released.
A lot of us have suspected this for a very long time. I hope that a lot of upper echelon in the FBI and Justice Depts gets their asses kicked out of the govt.

It's going to be one of those things where the GOP tells you something is scary, but hope you never actually read or understand the documents -- like Wikileaks.

Devin Nunes. Yeah, okay.

Really ? Youre attacking the source ?

The Obama administration already has a history of abuse when it comes to domestic surveillance.

They self reported and UNDER REPORTED multiple FISA violations back in October of 2016 with FISC calling these abuses serious 4rth ammendment violations

You can attack Nunez until your'e blue in the face, these memo's are eventually going to be released.

This will make Watergate look like childs play, and the Democrats will only have themselves to blame

So, who created this memo? And at whose direction?

You always seem to be one of the first to show up to try to discredit things, almost on queue. And to your post, so what? This ain't about annual reports.

Well seeing as you cannot figure it out, I will. Any illegal acts under FISA did not suddenly appear. Do I need to expand upon that?
Your problem is you are not prepared to defend your point- you do not research- you are not aware of who reports to who.
Clearly politics is not your forte.

None of this should surprise you people

You think Bruce Ohr and Peter Sztrok were removed from their senior positions at the DOJ and FBI because they were Hillary supporters ?

Newp, they're neck deep in all of this and so is Andrew " Andy's office " McCabe.
McCabe's decision to " retire " right after he testified that he couldn't remember when he learned that the dossier was funded by Hillary's campaign should have been a big heads up for you people

I am STILL waiting for you to explain away Sztrok and being removed from their senior positions at the DOJ and the FBI

Ive asked you to try and reconcile this at least 3 times

Wonder how many of these FISA critics just voted to expand FISA.

OK, so release the last 12 months of reports to the members of the house intelligence committee showing the why and where of FISA warrants and then we can ask them why they have not pitched a fit until now. And maybe ask them, why now?

You think this memo was part of the report. I'm sure they regularly report on abuse of power, yeah.

What I can't understand is the demands by the Democrats to release the transcript of the interview with Glenn Simpson (Fusion GPS) but they want to block the release of this memo to other members of Congress. I think the public deserves to see EVERYTHING.
From the article:
The vote Thursday morning on releasing the memo to lawmakers was along party lines, with Democrats voting against making it available for all members.

Seems suspicious to me. Maybe even disingenuous or hypocritical. I want all the documents that can be released to the public to be released. If the memo is released to all of the members we could see it in a week.

The process for releasing it to the public involves a committee vote, a source said. If approved, it could be released as long as there are no objections from the White House within five days.

Yeah, go on I'm waiting. Teach me.

Nunez announces deal with DOJ on document request...

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cn.../rod-rosenstein-house-intel-russia/index.html

The House intel committee members just received DOJ and FBI subpoenaed documents related to the FBIs and the DOJs use of the dossier in obtaining FISA warrants less than 2 weeks ago

Obviously these memo's are related to those documents

Yeah, go on I'm waiting. Teach me.

What did they state- facts - or did the go look at this bogeyman? Cannot tell ya anything, but if you saw what we saw, well, head for the bunkers.
And do you think Nunes is credible?

I myself have explained to you why Sztrok was demoted several times, so you're just wanting to repeat talking points.

Exactly

OK. Report that too. I do not care. I am of the opinion that if they get a panel of judges to agree on a warrant, that the warrant is likely justified. Just like it is a justified warrant to bust into a home in the middle of the night, killing the family dog and maybe wounding a few family members even though the address was wrong.

Well duh. FISA has been getting criticized by members of the right for a long time. Republicans like Rand Paul have frequently criticized "ROVING WIRETAPS". It was the liberals who wouldn't stop chanting "if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to worry about". Obama's administration kicked the abuses into overdrive.
