Trump tweets DACA 'probably dead' - CNN today

Trump tweets DACA is 'probably Dead" - CNNPolitics

(CNN) President Donald Trump again blamed Democrats on Sunday for the stall in talks over a potential immigration deal as the threat of a government shutdown looms this Friday.

"DACA is probably dead because the Democrats don't really want it, they just want to talk and take desperately needed money away from our Military," Trump tweeted Sunday morning.
In a second tweet a few minutes later, he wrote: "I, as President, want people coming into our Country who are going to help us become strong and great again, people coming in through a system based on MERIT. No more Lotteries! #AMERICA FIRST."
Trump's tweets came just hours after his administration resumed receiving renewal applications for "Dreamers" under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program following a federal court order blocking the administration from ending the program.
The program has protected undocumented immigrants brought to the United States as children from being deported. The administration announced the end of DACA in September, with recipients beginning to lose their status in early March.

What surprises me about this is that he didn't blame it on Obama.

I wonder why Trump keeps calling his deal DACA when his base wants DACA dead anyway. Shouldn't he call his deal something else?

Why the hell did I pay my own way through school? Dammit. Messed up again. Or maybe it is because my wealth is not my parent's wealth. Nor is it their responsibility to send me to college. If they do, thank you, so nice. If they don't, that is fine too. I feel many people go to college without a need.

Also, if college is so free, why is student loan debt the second highest debt category behind mortgages? https://www.forbes.com/sites/zackfriedman/2017/02/21/student-loan-debt-statistics-2017/#1d83941e5dab

Exactly my point. You can't have it both ways and claim that we need to soak the taxpayers even more to provide for free college if it is all ready so easy to go to school for free. It simply doesn't make sense.

Would a Norwegian who overstayed his Visa be deported? LOL

Most Norwegian's would not be overstaying their welcome in the US.... probably thinking of it as a ****hole.

There is far more US to Norway migration than the other way around. Norway enjoys the highest standard of living in the world.

Yes I am sure the pieces of **** anti-Americans mostly are the ones who took the poll.

Obviously you don't understand how polling works OR you hide from the results because it is counter to world view. So you know, the polls state that there is a 95-99% chance that 81-91% of the country is in favor of DACA. By extension, it seems you have just called 81-91% of Americans "...pieces of **** anti-Americans.."

I submit that if you find 81-91 of your countrymen reprehensible, it is you that is out of phase. It might be time to consider another living environment more suitable to your world view. Here is a list of 200+ countries, surely you can find one that suits you.

You might start with Russia. It seems to have much of what you seem to be looking for.....

Not while they are under the DACA umbrella.

And that's...wonderful.
I know there's a whole bunch of Mexican Americans who were kids when they were brought to the USA, or born In the USA.
But the fact is, the immigration laws were flagrantly broken. DACA is a nice way to deal with the situation, but it should not be a blanket solution.
Each case should be reviewed, and a judgement passed. One way or t' other.

My wife had immigration issues when we first got married. We left Canada in order to fulfill the immigration requirements LEGALLY.
Because that's how immigration works.

I understand how polls work. They call people, take them for their word at what affiliation they claim to be and say that somehow that tiny sample of people somehow represents the whole country.
