DOJ official who concealed meetings with Trump dossier figures loses another job title

Here is a link to an article that has a pretty good timeline spelled out.

As for when Nellie Orh started to work for Fusion:

https://heavy.com/news/2017/12/bruce-ohr-dossier-fusion-gps-trump-demoted/

Here is a more definitive timeline for when Nellie Ohr was employed with Fusion. She did work for Fusion in the summer as you stated earlier:

It's unfortunate that Fox uses the less-specific language "summer and fall", but since the first day of summer is around June 20th, and the Trump Tower meeting was on June 9th, it still doesn't sound like she was employed by Simpson when he saw Veselnitskaya.

If the pleas weren't damning, you wouldn't feel the need to appeal to the wishful thinking that the pleas will be magically "withdrawn" for no discernible reason. Apparently, you think George would lie so that he can confess to a felony, which makes absolutely zero sense.

Huh? I'm starting to think you didn't actually read the plea. The point is that the only crime that Papadopolous plead guilty to occurred in the interview with the FBI. Since the whole basis of the investigation is turning out to be a collusion between the FBI and the Hillary campaign there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that the FBI and the DOJ would prosecute someone for lying as part of that bogus investigation.

Papadopoulos' claim was that the Trump campaign knew that Russia had "thousands" of emails in April 2016, months before they were published. He acquired that advanced knowledge as a representative of the campaign. The campaign policies were unanimously pro-Russia. That's a cue, President Trump's campaign signaled a clear willingness to coordinate, implicitly or explicitly, with a foreign adversary that committed crimes on our soil.

Wrong. Papadopolous claims that a third party passed on a rumor that the Russians had emails with dirt on Hillary. At no point in the time since that statement did the Trump campaign meet with the source of the rumor, or even request the information on the source of the emails. From Papadopolous' testimony he tried frequently to arrange a meeting with the Russians that never actually happened. By his testimony he got almost no feedback on those efforts.

Papadopoulos' plea confirms all of that. He wouldn't have disclosed to investigators that he lied because he didn't want to contradict President Trump's public lies about how his campaign supposedly had no contact with Russia when a dozen of them had direct contact with Russia.

No, it doesn't. What it confirms is that you have built a narrative around what you think was said. Your initial characterization of the contents of the plea proves you didn't read it.

We have gone from Collusion to Conspiracy and now to Obstruction all in a quick order with more yet to come...

Yes, the charges are for crimes that they committed in the process of the FBI investigation. None have been charged with crimes of conspiring with Russia.

If you are the target of a police investigation that was found to be corrupt there isn't a chance that a prosecutor would bring charges against you for lying to that investigation. Zero. Your crime would, if I'm not mistaken, fall into the realm of entrapment. Not to mention, in order to prosecute you for giving false testimony the prosecutor would need to open the details of the corrupt investigation to trial discovery which the prosecutor would, for obvious reasons, be averse to.

Not to mention that the actual charges against Manafort that aren't connected to the execution of the investigation occurred years before being hired by the Trump campaign, and when he was actually working with the Podesta group.

High time these hyper-partisans be excised from what should be completely apolitical positions and completely apolitical agency.
Seeing as how little play this issue is getting in the national scene, its probably going to be a good while before anything comes of this. If I am to be honest.

One suspects you're not a law professor.

You might try Trump University however and all the same. Anyone can find their application forms with the Trump Ketchup.

Trump and Manafort have for years had business circles that overlap which is one reason each of 'em have debts to people over there who they also brag about. Kushner for one has chirped for years the Trumps do business with Russians. My number one for months now is to find out whether Putin or his oligarchs bought the Trump debt from Deutsche Bank. If not then okay -- if so then the fit is gonna hit the shan around here.

Exactly my point. The scandal is a contrivance -- and an obvious one. Let me counter your list with my own: Flynn, Manafort, Papadapolous, Gates. Indictments. Guilty pleas. Let me repeat that: GUILTY PLEAS!

The desperate attempt to smear the names in your list betrays your real concerns: They're closing in on Trump.

Who pled guilty to a crime involving trump and russian collusion?

link please.

DOJ official who concealed meetings with Trump dossier figures loses another job title | Fox News

"A Justice Department official demoted late last year for concealing his meetings with the men behind the anti-Trump “dossier” has been stripped of yet another title, Fox News has learned.

Bruce Ohr is no longer head of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force.

Separately, sources familiar with the discussions tell Fox News that the Justice Department is expected to comply with demands from the House Intelligence Committee to provide Ohr for an interview. He is scheduled to visit the committee on Jan. 17, sources said.

Fox News first reported in December that Ohr had been demoted from the position of associate deputy attorney general, after it was revealed he had conducted undisclosed meetings with dossier author Christopher Steele and Glenn Simpson of Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm that produced the salacious document. "

Well I saw this coming. Bruce Ohr of-course met with Steele prior to the election and his wife was hired by Fusion GPS.

Why does his guy even still have a job?

Only in politics can you be so unethical and still have a job afterward.

It's almost adorable how hard you folks are trying to discredit the DOJ, the FBI, the CIA, the media -- all to protect the grifter-in-chief. In the land of make-believe, everyone is corrupt but Trump. lol

It's almost adorble when liberals play ostrich.
So far there is no evidence that trump has done anything illegal.

That cannot be said of the FBI and doj under the obama administration.
You sticking your head in the sand doesn't change the article does it.

I read today the House Intel finally got all the documents they have been wanting in regard to the Trump Dossier from the FBI and DOJ. Next week there will be a number of witnesses from FBI agents to those at the DOJ called. By the end of this week though my bet is we are going to see this whole Russian Collusion thing completely unravel.

It was a non-story from the get go.
Everyone knew it except those with sever cases to TDS.

It is pretty clear that the obama administration was using FBI and other government agencies to keep trump from from getting elected.
That could be criminal charges on that.

lol ... even if they leaked, it doesn't exonerate anyone. Plus: GUILTY PLEAS! You're trying so hard. lol

It's ridiculous they actually try to pass off this nonsense as legit, that there really is nothing here, that its all deep state and bias. These people are completely out of their minds if they think anybody with a semblance of intelligence and honesty will buy it. Trumps entire history is full of sketchy and questionable dealings, actions, and fraud. They are really an embarrassment to themselves, and our country. They need to turn off Fox news and join the rest of us in the real world. But then again, even people on Fox news are saying attaching the FBI, CIA, etc is ridiculous

Wow, trying to discuss this growing scandal with a Liberal is like trying to teach my Border Collie Latin

You obviously haven't been keeping up with this story, so I have to start from the beginning.

Ill just say that Peter Sztrok and Lisa Page texted often to each other, and these weren't the first text released.

If you had been keeping up with this story, then you would understand the signifigance of these text. Its not just that they were leaking

Hard to discuss anything with a liberal when they bring facts and logic and conservatives bring nothing but deflections and nonsense. So I can see why you are frustrated. Must suck being wrong all the time and being destroyed by others well reasoned, fact based arguments

We have a conspiracy forum on this board if you need to use it.
There is still no evidence that here was any collusion.

Collusion is not a crime this has been established for a few months.

It was more than just using the FBI and other agencies from keeping Trump from being elected, it was about sabotaging his presidency if he did get elected.

Feinstein releasing the Simpson/FUSION GPS testimony showed that Steele and the FBI were working together. She also redacted the names of all the players and omitted other key pieces of testimony. And Simpson never brought up Ohr or his wife Nellie and his ties to the DOJ.

Then the discovery this week on Monday that FBI agents were behind leaking anti-Trump stories to the press. But Congress did win in court and received un-redacted bank records of Fusion's payments to Russians and to the press.

Then the IG is suppose to start releasing his findings in the next week or two.

This fiasco is coming to an end and yes there will be some prosecuted for their actions no doubt.

This week the House Intel committee finally got the documents from the FBI and DOJ and Rep DeSantis called on Ryan to declassify them because the people need to know what was going on. That was a shout out their suspicions of wrongdoing in the Obama DOJ and FBI have been proved.

Most transparent government in history yeah right.

one of the most corrupt government in history then again he came from chicago one of the most
corrupt governments out there.

They've brought nothing of the sort, and niether have you.

But by all means " if you think you can " destroy " my arguments then have at it

Personally, I think you'll either run away or post more innane irrelevent crap like your post above

Go back and read the statutory allegation you posted regarding the case against Manafort and Gates. Pay close attention to this line as it appears in the charges:

"knowingly and intentionally conspired to defraud the United States by impeding, impairing, obstructing, and defeating the lawful governmental functions of a government agency"

Pay close attention to the piece that I marked in red. If, as it appears, members of the DOJ and the FBI were working with the Hillary Campaign against her opponent, and used unsubstantiated rumors to collect FISA warrants, and then used the information collected by the FISA warrant in a propaganda campaign within the intelligence agencies then they were not conducting a lawful government function and therefor any false statements during that process are not a crime.

As I said, they would be well advised to withdraw their guilty plea and take it to court, and use as their defense that the investigation was not lawfully administered. Do you think the DOJ is ready to defend this investigation in court? I say they aren't.

Yep, one of the Journalist reporting on this said his sources are telling him its even worse than we imagined.

That more details will be released, as early as next week.
Fienstein releasing that testimony shows just how desperate the Democrats have become over this growing scandal
They cant shut down the investigation and they cant subvert evidence

I'm not ready to get into the "details will be released next week" speculation. I've suffered through enough of that speculation from the anti-Trumpers over the last year only to see it burn them over and over again. I'll see where the investigation goes.

Right now it is just funny to see Feinstein release the testimony to great fanfare from the left and see how quickly she had to recoil from it in defense when everyone started to realize that the document really wasn't damning to Trump, but pretty damning to Fusion GPS and, though redacted, solidified the connection between Fusion GPS and the FBI while earlier disclosures have already linked Fusion GPS with the DOJ and the Hillary Campaign.

Sarah Carter of Circa news has done a excellent job reporting on this story.

Yet there are still 2 criminal Federal Grand Jury Indictments, and 2 guilty plea deals--with more certain to come. Imagine that!

When FOX NEWS makes cheeseburgers headline news--& all their other conspiracys have collapsed--you can bet they'll find more.

Fox news employees even threatened to quit over that one.

Here is the full transcript of Glenn Simpson's, founder of GPS Fusion, testimony. Ohr's name is not mentioned anywhere in this 10 hour testimony.

FOX NEWS had to come up with something quickly to address Diane Fienstein's release of GPS Fushion transcripts--and now we know what it is. ANOTHER CONSPIRACY THEORY.---:lamo

Fienstein regrets releasing testimony, blames a " bad cold " for impairing her mental capacities...

https://www.google.com/amp/amp.wash...-feinstein-partially-blames-bad-cold-for-rel/

And yes, we know Simpson misled Congressional imvestigators. He was asked if anyone on his team at the rime spoke Russian

He said no. Nellie Ohr spoke Russian, in fact she was hired because she was a supposed " expert " on Russian affairs.

Simpsons also said Steele thought the allegations in the dossier were so shocking, he felt compelled to go to the FBI.

But in court papers in a Libel case Steele revealed the allegations were unsubstantiated. That the dossier was never meant to be made public.

Come on now. The guilty pleas have come as part of deals with the prosecutor. We know that Papi and Flynn are now working with the investigation. Patience. The full truth is yet to be revealed, so both of our positions are based at least in part on speculation, but it doesn't look good for Trump as a leader regardless.

Here's a picture worth 1,000 words:

Best case scenario for Trump: laughable incompetence. lol

Hahaha. That term is hilarious.

New York Times said:
97 percent of federal cases and 94 percent of state cases end in plea bargains

It seems our jails are full of "process criminals."
