I think they went to beg Ryan to put a leash on Nunes, since they refused, today, to give Nunes the documents he demanded.

We know Nunes is serious. It remains to be seen if Ryan is serious.

He can "demand" until the Moon turns to cheese, it won't save Trump and his men from Mueller.

The "Fusion GPS did it!" scandal the GOP tried to pass off, sank over the weekend, and Nunes can't save it.

I don't think Nunes is doing all this to "save Trump". I think he's doing this because there are compelling indications that the Obama DOJ, FBI and other agencies were crooked as hell and we...as Americans...should never tolerate such behavior.
 
Politico's headline on this story is "Deputy AG and FBI director make surprise visit to Ryan's office. That was crap. The two requested a meeting with Ryan.

Today is when the deadline for Wray and Rosenstein to turn over all documents involving the Trump dossier. They didn't do it. Instead they went to see Ryan.

The requests for these documents started last Summer, and after countless number of requests the FBI and the DOJ have failed to comply. Even Ryan made a public statement a few weeks back that if the requests were not met, Congress will hold the FBI and DOJ in contempt.

Well they didn't turn over the documents and instead requested a meeting with Ryan. So I went to the back of Subaru Forester where I keep my crystal ball and this is what I see is going on. The Inspector General Horowitz you know the guy that polices/investigates the actions of those serving/working for the federal government has been investigating the FBI and the DOJ for wrongdoing over the Clinton Email scandal. This investigation was started at the request of the Democrats who believed Comey caused Clinton to lose the election because he re-opened the Clinton Email case after it being discovered that Huma Abedin Clinton's top aide used her husbands computer Anthony Wiener to download sensitive material. The same Huma Abedin in the news this week that used multiple devices to download sensitive material to Yahoo accounts that had been hacked by multiple foreign entities.

Ironically the same persons involved in the Clinton email investigation are the same players involved in the starting of the Trump/Russia investigation. We already know Horowitz has uncovered the actions of Strzok super counter intelligence spook and his mistress Lisa Page, FBI atty who worked under Andrew McCabe assistant director of the FBI. And he unveiled Bruce Ohr assistant director of the DOJ was meeting with Christopher Steele the ex British spy on multiple occasions along with Simpson founder of Fusion GPS working on digging dirt for the Clinton campaign on Trump and the cherry on the sundae is Bruce Orh's wife Nellie was working for Fusion GPS and was one of the dirt diggers!

Oh the tangled web the have weaved. My crystal ball is telling me the FBI and DOJ under the Obama administration dressed that opposition research document up as counter intelligence and obtained FISA warrants to spy on the Trump team during a campaign and while they were in transition and he has compiled evidence against certain persons for wrong doing and this has become a criminal investigation. That is one way the FBI and DOJ can have an excuse not to turn over requested documents.

In case some of you have forgotten it was IG Horowitz who exposed Eric Holder and his lies in regard to "Fast and Furious". Holder should have been impeached.

And another thing Obama's UN ambassador was found to be the one who requested 100's of unmaskings in intelligence reports pertaining to people associated with Trump. But when Samantha Power went before Congress, she said she didn't request those unmaskings. If she didn't who did? I bet IG Horowitz knows.

Horowitz will release his report sometime in March. In his report he will put forth recommendations on who should be indicted, who should be reprimanded and who should be forced to resign.
 
Samantha Power was the UN Ambassador. It must be difficult to spin such dreck when so many "alternative facts" have been pulled out of so many rear ends.

LOL I don't think so. The only way the FBI director and deputy AG could avoid being in contempt of Congress is to produce information that there is an ongoing criminal investigation in regard to the Trump Dossier.

Samantha Power told Congress, on the record, that she did not have anything to do with the "unmaskings." I wonder when and if we will learn who the culprit really was.....

Horowitz will also be sending 1.2 million pages of documents and evidence to Congress later this month.

The poop is about to start flying around and all of the potential targets are doing everything they can to avoid the stuff.

Samantha Power was called to visit Congress in October 2017, which she did, and she claimed she had nothing to do with the "unmaskings." Susan Rice was also questioned earlier last year, and while she said she was aware of the unmaskings, they were not politically motivated. I really don't know what the outcomes were beyond that, but I'll wait along with everyone else to learn the results of the current investigation Mueller is conducting.

Good morning Pol, late last night Nunes released a statement saying the DOJ would be releasing all the requested documents to the Intelligence Committee in the coming days. The Intelligence Committee has been asking for these documents since early last Summer. Finally in August they subpoenaed the FBI and DOJ for the documents after they refused to comply to their requests. Still after they were supoenaed they refused to comply. After 4 more months of stalling in December Ryan issued a warning that they would be in contempt if they did not turn over the documents.

You know we just recently found out about agent Strzok and his mistress Lisa Page who were both working for Mueller at the time when the IG discovered their text messages and about former Deputy AG Ohr of the DOJ and his wife Nellie working for Fusion GPS both with ties to those working on the Trump Dossier for the Clinton campaign but all this stuff was going on last Summer and no one informed Congress not Mueller who removed Strzok and Page from his team , not the DOJ or the FBI.

I think this stonewalling was because of an internal investigation of both departments by the IG. Grassley had asked for Strzok and others to come before his committee back in August and those requests were denied too. And today it is being reported that Grassley said at least one of the memos that Comey leaked to a friend to give to the NYT was classified information. It is a steamy mess. My hope is after this is all over that all documents become declassified and we all get to read what actually took place. We deserve to know.

It looks like the more we learn about what has really gone on in our government, the worse it gets! AARGH! Tammany Hall corruption comes to mind, and while it is said that history repeats itself, laws were supposedly put into place to prevent that from ever happening again. We say that we are a nation of laws that are applied to everyone equally, but is that really true? What good does it do when the public sees that laws are broken but no punishment follows because the lawbreakers are part of the "elite?" :bs: That may be SOP in many parts of the world, but that should certainly not be the case here! :2mad: Very disappointing...
