Recreational Pot Is Officially Legal in California

Nah, I've never smoked weed, vaped, or drank alcohol. But that doesn't mean others can't.

I turned some down on Christmas when some family members when outside to share a joint It's been a few years since I caught a buzz. So, I didn't really feel the need to join them. Plus, a couple of the people smoking it sounded like they had a cold. I certainly did not need to catch that.

I'm surprised the government does not encourage more potheads. They are the most docile creatures known the man, and easily manipulated. Just point them in the direction of a bag of Doritos.

We are, keep them docile AND collect a new revenue stream...WIN!/WIN!

America, Managing The Decline.

I abused pot for years & found it had several drawbacks: one, you built up a tolerance with continued (daily) use over time; two, you could get burned for $$$ in deals gone bad; three, it distorts your sense of judgement so you take off & commit yourself to projects that to a straight person would seem idiotic; four, the stuff that was getting more & more potent & no longer produced euphoria but just the opposite: dysphoria, or paranoia & depression. I picked that up also from talking to a chemist who had made some very potent analogs of THC in the 1970s while he was working at Pfizer Research. I quit cold turkey & flushed some potent weed. Glad I did that. As a result of my experiences I am not pro legalization.

Isn't smoking just as bad, if not worse?

I dont have any problems with tolerance, I think because I keep switching up the strain, and since they are all different....

But see that is the beauty of being able to walk into a store on any give day and get 60 different ever changing varieties, and 50 types of edibles, and kief, and all sorts of vape stuff that I dont use.

Not as bad, it seems. I smoked cigarettes for 11 years as a teen-young adult + the daily pot smoking for about as long. A couple of years ago I had a clean chest X-ray taken. Maybe I'm just lucky.

My mother smoked unfiltered cigs for years & died of lung cancer but she got into her 80s.

I dont have any problems with tolerance

Any drug substance that acts at a receptor in the brain automatically generates tolerance. I think it is due to your body making more receptor molecules in your brain so it takes more to have the same effect. As examples, I abused nitrous oxide for a while & now it has no effect on me. And I have other sleep drug substances that I took legally for years that have absolutely no effect on me now.

When I first got really stoned on that ditch weed, I was actually hallucinating about front door lights on people's houses. Forty years ago & I can still see those images. But as time went on no more hallucinations & I wound up smoking more & better stuff but not getting where I had been those first times.

Impressive.

Good Lord.

Yeah, I think you're just lucky. I know people who developed severe lung problems after just 5 years.

There's never been a better reason to live in one of the Western states. They all have legalized recreational marijuana,

You don't have to go west massachusetts put it to their voters and will be fully legal with pot bars, delivery, and growing coop' s as of July 1 (I believe).

And its not too often (rare in fact) that you ever see people high on just marijuana getting aggressive and fighting like alcohol. The only fight I've ever seen with two people high on marijuana was over one guy smoking the last of the other guys weed.

The only fight I ever had with anyone while high was when a friend took my jar of Flufferutter without my permission.

We decriminalized possession here in NH up to 3/4 of an ounce for anyone over 18 this year. Our Republican governor signed it into law. I was happy.

As more states join the legal weed zones then market prices will stabilize or a black market will force those high tax state's hands. The tax alone on a pack of cigarettes in NY is more than their total cost in many states. Since the product has no serial numbers how hard would it be to buy out of state and simply transfer the product to refill a package bearing the state's tax stamp?

Irony.
