'He golfs when he could be with his family': Trump accused of not spending enough time with Barron

Agreed. But it's the damned Daily Mail, pretty much the National Enquirer of the UK.

In some ways--the lurid gossip rag side--it is. But it also has stringers everywhere in the world and is almost always among the first to report breaking news with photographs.

Anyway, a thread on this topic was begun yesterday in General, and its source is the Washington Examiner. A Tennessee Congressman I'd never heard of, Steve Cohen, has decided that because he never sees Trump with his child, he's a poor parent. https://www.debatepolitics.com/gene...on/305301-cohen-comments-trump-parenting.html

Because of his poor judgment, I think Steve Cohen is a poor excuse for a leader.

???

Ivanka Trump is a mother, fashion designer, author, and entrepreneur.

What exactly are you doing with your life that makes it acceptable to say she isn't bright?

FYI Tiffany is in law school right now.

Ha ha ha!!! It doesn't take much to impress you I see. Pretty foreigner marries U.S. billionaire, employees nannies. What a role model!!!!

If the Trumplings on this forum are any indication of what conservative parents are like, then "libbos" are providing a public service. Trumplings tend to be emotionally constipated, ultra gullible, malignant narcissists.

Not naming names...just saying.

It's impossible fot Luberals to make an argument without making it personal. :lamo

In all seriousness and positivity, I'd like to see djt play RISK with Barron and his two brothers. Concurrently, have Barron design a 'RISK 2018' with all the World's 'hot spots'. I think he'd be spot on.

I've added Central USA in North America to one of my boards, along with Columbia in South America. Australia and Europe seem set; Africa and Asia could use some additions and/or rearranging.

My Dad had 3 sons also. 80-card pichnocle, double-deck, was our favorite, while watching NFL with the 4 of us picking winners and spread. I taught my two younger brothers Chess; I suspect Barron is already good at this one with his IQ.

I'd sincerely love to see a golf 4-some with djt and his 3 sons, as our family did. My Air Force Dad taught us golf at a young age, just as Tiger's Dad did ...

I still have the Risk game I inherited from my best friend. The armies are various colored wooden squares. Center of the board has a few seed burns...good times and long games, and I learned one of my most valuable life lessons playing Risk.

Hmmmm....Good call Nota....Just goes to show how deep the 'Never Trumpers' are in Congress, and the underhanded **** they'll pull to de legitimize him....

His kids are all highly educated, smart, successful, and great people.

I understand he wanted nothing to do with his other sons until they graduated from college.

On my 2nd RISK board, I'm looking at a line from Japan to New Guinea, as per WW2. Break up Siam into Vietnam and both Koreas, with NK actually touching Kamchatka, as irl, plus a line from NK to Japan, as irl. (My two younger brothers couldn't pronounce Yakutsk without saying Yousuck)

Love the little sliver of the Congo. Break up the Middle East; a case could be made to make it the 7th continent IMO. Just try to get the Ukraine/Middle East combo!

We lost our 4th partner when we lost my Dad 5+ years ago. The President has 3 sons, 2 daughters, direct in-laws and grandchildren. Family is the best advice I can give to him going forward ...

His adult children are open to criticism since they have chosen a life in politics. Barron has not. I hope for his sake he can weather the storm much like the Obama girls are doing.

You can't measure people by their monetary value.

I have three "real life" friends who believed that Donald Trump was a great choice for President because he was billionaire and could fix the economy. They couldn't tell me what was wrong with the economy or how Trump could fix it, but they knew he was the right guy because he was wealthy.

I know several people who attach character to money. Sad.

Seriously, with as much vilification of "intellectualism" as many conservatives spew, when did being highly educated equate to a positive asset in the right's vocabulary?

Air Force pilots rank Air Force bases by the quality of their golf courses.

I had to Google and see, from Wiki, that this isn't the first time Cohen has stirred the pot. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Cohen

His politics don't concern me as much as his lack of judgment. What a stupid and uncalled for criticism. He looks so petty and mean and dumb.

Good advice.

I learned how to pronounce "Yakutsk" from my friend. He's been gone a long time now--went out to mow the backyard one Saturday morning and dropped dead, leaving a young widow who had never held any kind of a job at all and 9 and 5-year old sons. I just lost the heart to ever play Risk again after that. But what marathons of fun we had playing.

Trump is a businessman and used to spending time away from home, not quality time with the family it seems. Also, I think Trump expects a more traditional style marriage where the wife takes care of the kids. From what I've heard from his other wives, they were expected to do the hard work raising the kids. Yes, previous presidents have seemed a little more informal and more involved with their family. Trump missing out but I don't think he cares about that kind of stuff.

We should ask William F. Buckley. ;)

I doubt he was the model stay at home involved dad to begin with. His mother is Barron's real parent who does spend the time with the child. Not sure how a 70 plus year old man could be a very active dad to begin with (too often on the golf course than with his son).

What qualifies Manc Skipper to call Ivanka Trump stupid?

I don't believe I did, though I am a mental health professional, better placed than your average trucker. You judge people by their salary, it seems. Not the deepest measure.

Trump accused of not spending enough time with Barron | Daily Mail Online

President Donald Trump was slammed for not spending enough time with his youngest son, Barron.

Democratic Representative Steve Cohen, of Tennessee, ripped the president in a particularly scathing tweet sent on Sunday morning.

'He golfs when he could be reading or be in church or be with his family. Never see him with Barron.

'You'd think he'd be golfing with Dad occasionally but narcissists only engage in activities where they are the show.'

Poor Barron always looks like he's a hostage. I feel sorry for the poor kid, who will likely spend a lot of time in therapy after he grows up.

Not my business. I'm not one of those creepy people who wants to interfere in how others raise their children and what are "family values".
