What you are claiming is any person of faith who believes marriage to be between a man and a woman is bigoted whether they be Christian, Muslim or Jew or a member of any other organization or none at all.

There's a reason the First Amendment as it is was placed first for its importance. No free man should be forced to deny his moral conscience but that is what you are wanting they do. And you dress it in the name of bigotry. Well pal it ain't going to fly.

Gays have every right under the sun as anyone else. But that isn't going to change the moral consciences of those who find it immoral and under the Constitution they have the right to their own moral conscience. Deal with it.

The Senate did its job by giving its advice against Merrick and withholding its consent.

Democrats created the nuclear option, so they shouldn't complain when there own rules come back to bite them in the arse.

Or they could try appointing justices who aren't anti-constitution.

I don't need to deal with anyone who oppresses people because of the way they were born. Doing that is a choice. Being gay is not.

Evangelicals would like to think they are a majority of Christians, but no.

Agreed. Every right just as every other American who has the same rights as well. This doesn't necessitate special carve outs or other legislation.

It is also the belief among a good number of Jews. The overwhelming majority of the three major faiths believe marriage is between a male and a female.

Nope, you are wrong. Among Catholics (according to the 2017 Pew opinion poll), 67% of catholics approve of gay marriage, 68% of white mainline protestants approve of gay marriage. Only among white evangelicals and black protestants there is a minority in favor of gay marriage but even among white evangelicals that figure is 35% who approve and among black protestants 44% approves.

In all reality approval of gay marriage is up to 62% because I would assume most people have realized that the world did not end/the US did not implode/the marriage as institution did not explode in a ball of fire.

No one expected the world would end with gay marriage being the law of the land but what people are fed up with is the constant attacks on people of faith over their moral conscience something protected in the first amendment that do not recognize it.

It wasn't enough for gay marriage to be law , but the very thought of someone not giving their blessing over it seems to have ticked off those who can't force people to accept it. In fact they show no respect for the rights of those whose moral conscience is protected by the first amendment.

So you paint them all as bigots disrespecting their own Constitutional rights. Way to go!

The Bible tells Christians to evangelize, so if a Christian is not spreading the gospel maybe they ought to question their Christianity.
