Papadopoulos role in Trump campaign appears extensive in undisclosed documents: report

I am waiting for the state charges of money laundering to go against Trump Jr and Jared.

I honestly have no idea what's going to happen. To repeat the new catchphrase: I am out of the prediction business. That said, I find it mindbogglingly unlikely that there won't be money laundering charges against members of the trump family, Ivanka included. These are stupid, stupid, stupid criminals.

I don't know if it's gonna happen, but I am waiting for it anyway. I am also waiting for Godot.

So apparently what started the FBI investigation of Trump-Russia was not the Steele document, but Papadopoulos getting hammered in a bar and spilling the beans about the campaigns knowledge of Russia's activities.

On my god!:doh:lamo

I wonder how this was leaked? If correct, it makes many Repubs like Nunes again look like the horses ass that he is.

The article, in addition to citing the real reasons for the opening of the counter-intelligence investigation, and revealing Papadopoulos to be a much more enduring character in the campaign than the mere "coffee boy," sheds additional light on the Strzok "insurance policy" text, which is suddenly a lot less insidious than Republicans painted it to be:

If it became known that the FBI had a CI on Russian interference in the election, and Trump lost, well Trump would be stating the election was fixed, I (he) stated as such, and that would have undermined peoples faith in the electoral system. Repubs would be going on about a fixed election, secret state and other CT type spin.
Either way Trump was doing Putin's work and still caused great division within the US. Either way Putin won.

Very interesting.

Yep- started in May at the latest- so Carter Page, Miller, and a few others are now crapping in their pants. George was not know to have had a plea deal, date arranged unknown, but I gather those 2 were interviewed by the FBI. I smell Felonies. Then we have El Jefe, who knew nothing about Russian meetings until the facts came out. Now him being a lawyer, I have no doubt he has his ass covered, but others, well as I have stated before, I believe more charges will be laid by end Feb. And Mueller ain't going away, this will be running well into 2019.
The only question I have is, who leaked this huge tidbit?

I agree with you, more charges are coming. Expect Trumplings to wage a political jihad on Mueller and the men and women of the FBI. If Kusher and Donald Jr. fall there will be a mushroom cloud 1600 Penn.

If one or both are charged, he will go off the deep end.

That was last week.

If that's the best they can come up with then it will be a joke. It already looks pathetic, at this juncture. If they had inferred, even, that not all was kosher why were they silent when Mueller was named and only making waves now?

Could it be they were still getting over the shame of having, oops, fired Mueller's predecessor?

Now, it looks exactly what is, a desperate attempt by a handful of stupid crooks who lied a few hundred lies too many. With the **** now flying back they look at alternatives and guess what?

They are so out of strategy that the ancient art of shooting the messenger is all they have.

I ask this? What happens if they succeed and get him tossed, who's next? Or do they think it would stop there? Nixon thought that way too one time..........

My question is: how much did Papadopoulos know in regards to Russia's activities in the election?

You can be sure that whatever Papadopoulos knew, Trump knew too.

There's no way he wasn't in the loop concerning political dirt on his allies. He's just like his son, he "loves it!" and will do anything he can to get it.

You know very well that Papadopoulos would head directly from JFK to Trump Tower to be debriefed by Trump & Don Jr.

That actually has already happened.

Collusion isn't a crime but conspiracy against the United States is.

18 U.S. Code § 371 - Conspiracy to commit offense or to defraud United States

If two or more persons conspire either to commit any offense against the United States, or to defraud the United States, or any agency thereof in any manner or for any purpose, and one or more of such persons do any act to effect the object of the conspiracy, each shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.

If, however, the offense, the commission of which is the object of the conspiracy, is a misdemeanor only, the punishment for such conspiracy shall not exceed the maximum punishment provided for such misdemeanor.

Not many Trumpers in this thread..

odd..

I don't think it's a concession, because they have been demonstrably wrong so many times, and that never stopped them from doubling down..

maybe they're waiting for Fox News to drum up their talking points.

Exactly.

The Trump camp believed that the emails lost from Clinton's server were in the possession of the Kremlin, and they were taking meetings in hopes they could get the Kremlin to release them.

They also appear to have been involved with KLS research, which was supposedly linked to Flynn.

If they can get Trump to sit down with Mueller's team they might be able to get him on lying to an FBI agent or making false statements, which he is so good at.

Yep. Wait til Hannity is on.

Then you’ll hear the parrots.

The special counsel is taking false statements and obstruction seriously.

There are many people in Trumps camp that have made misleading or false statements on government forms, in front of the Congress, to the FBI, and god knows what they said before the grand jury.

Kushner and Sessions are at the top of the list.

I find it really interesting that, when the Australian diplomat got this information, he passed it on to the relevant authorities in Australia.

Trumps team didn’t.

And when they were asked about it, they lied or ‘couldn’t recall’.

I wonder if soon the Trumpettes will be going from ‘there was no collusion!’ To ‘but collusion isn’t wrong!’.

Yup, there is no law against collusion. If the collusion is to do something illegal, then those who colluded can be prosecuted. It can then be said that certain people colluded to execute an illegal act. Because the word "collusion" is used to properly describe and give context to an illegal act, it's association with an illegal act creates a perception that collusion, in and of itself, is illegal.

I hope they keep lying and obstructing lol. If for no other reason than to see them get charged and to see how the Trump loyalists on this forum lose their collective ****.

Trump would be the crown jewel, and if Pence is complicit surely he would go as well. Of course that leaves us with President Paul Ryan. Better than Orange Jesus and Dr. Shockthegaysstraight.

I don't see anything like that happening unless something major is revealed.

The GOP may have issues with Trump, but impeachment would never happen with them in control of the Congress. Even if it could be demonstrated that Trump knew about the Russian meddling in the election, all of Flynn and Manaforts crimes, and apart of a criminal cover-up, the GOP will simply look the other way.

The key for us is voting their 'swamp' out in 2018, so if Mueller reports in 2019 we'll have a Congress that will do something about it -- at least in the House.

Could be another fountain of information, including who was briefed on what within the Trump inner circle
I would say he is definitely not a coffee boy as the WH tried to paint him as.

And this appears to be what drove the FBI to opening an investigation.

Well, I hate to burst this thread's bubble and end the Trump Hater circle jerk, but it only took a few hours for someone to ask pertinent questions that pretty much destroy the veracity of this NYT article. It sucks, I know...

Oh I agree, the GOP isn't going to impeach Trump. I am hopeful that Dems have their act together and can retake Congress. The tax reform bill might be key in the upcoming mid-terms. We'll see.

I'm not a lawyer but I believe when 2 or more people get together to plan to break the law in an election or other Federal process, it's possibly Cionspiracy Against the United States:
