Republican Attacks on Mueller and F.B.I. Open New Rift in G.O.P.

Two of Hillary’s staff were given immunity for their testimony in the email investigation. Although Trey Gowdy thinks otherwise, such an immunity deal is common practice. The two were small fish. Hillary was the big fish and they might have come across another or two. They did not. Hillary did not give any instruction to either of the two to erase the emails and the two confirmed so:

Obama administration granted immunity to Clinton computer guru who deleted emails | Daily Mail Online

So?

That was what, a year ago?

And you are making a point of it only now because.......................?

Because your asses are all on the line, your knees are shaking as it appears there's a real good chance idiot MAGA -boy is going DOWN that's why. You probably weren't even aware of it till the White House propaganda machine let you in on it.

I'm done here.

Really?? Let's see you prove it.

LOL!!

Nah...I'll just wait for the DOJ OIG report. Let that speak for me.

You should, too.

In other words, you have no evidence, but only repeat refuted rhetoric.

Ok. I understand.

When did the Republicans pay for and use fake information to convince a FISA Court to authorize wiretapping a Presidential candidate? You know...illegal stuff.

Someone in Trump Tower was making & receiving phone calls from Russia. That was enough for the FISA warrants. The U.S. intelligence people like to keep tabs on European phone calls to/from the U.S., especially from Russia. Even if it was only Kushner setting up appointments to meet with his Putin-appointed oligarch banker, that was sufficient cause. Not necessarily illegal stuff, but national security.

Who told you all that?

Which , of course, there is zero evidence of that actually happening, ever. You do love that fake new it seems.

But then there's this report.

Washington (CNN)The FBI last year used a dossier of allegations of Russian ties to Donald Trump's campaign as part of the justification to win approval to secretly monitor a Trump associate, according to US officials briefed on the investigation.
FBI used dossier allegations to bolster Trump-Russia investigation - CNNPolitics

Granted, since it's from CNN, it's suspected fake news, but then again, it probably isn't.

I’m not sure I understand what you’re saying. I was merely pointing out that the line posted in #26, "I eagerly look forward to the Trump campaign staff being given immunity deals before their interviews.”, alluding to Hillary staff members being given immunity was factual, but not in the sense the poster meant. It was not a black mark against Hillary, it confirmed she was not involved in the event in question. I hope that clarifies the matter.

This sudden turn of the White House to attack the integrity of the FBI clearly illustrates just how frightened they are. If they had done nothing wrong they would not now be changing horses in mid stream. They are desperate and there is definitely desperation in the ranks.
Frankly destroying a national institution to prop up a Shylock, womanizing fraud is just about the most stupid America has gotten. And there's a lot of stupid in there.

You don't feel like a pawn? Just echoing the latest White House propaganda strategy?
The FBI lost a lot of credibility when they used that contorted logic to recommend against prosecuting clinton. The unsavory details about Mueller investigation team have only served to compound people's concerns about the FBI integrity. The best thing Trump can do for America is to spend his 8 years (hopefully) in office systematically replacing them all and bringing in honorable people to replace them. What he can't do is clean them all out once. The corruption runs so deep that it would cripple the dept. If he got rid of all of them at once.

I agree completely. This is Trump and Co.'s M.O. and it will not change. If they sense any criticism or chance their covers are about to be pulled back, they launch the attack. And like Pavlov's dog, the base joins in. It's madness. All Trump (and Fox) have to do is say "bad" and point a finger at someone or something and herd moves on them.

Me personally? No, not at all.
Except this isn't new. The public has been question our law enforcement and intelligence communities for a long time. It's a growing thing and every misstep they make adds to people's cynicism.

No wmds
Nsa spying
Gun running
Benghazi
The irs
Unmasking political foes
Not prosecuting people for mishandling classified documents
Etc etc etc

There are a plethora of good reasons to be skeptical of these people's motives.

Actually that last line was a mistake. Sorry about that.

I have to say I am very surprised at how the Republicans have turned into such babies. Anyone with integrity would realize how hypocritical it is to have spent 16 years non stop investigating a political opponent and then turn around and cry like an infant at ONE investigation.

Everything Trump and they do screams "guilty".
Guilty of what? What crime are you so sure he committed?

If you think that the way Trump and his allies have treated the DOJ and the FBI doesn't matter, I'm afraid you don't have a proper understanding of how D.C. works. It matters, and their will be long lasting consequences, whether they are apparent to us little people or not.
I hope your right. Hopefully Trump can bring accountability to those depts in a meaningful and long lasting way. It's about time these people were reminded who's interests they are there to serve.

****!

Great line. I wished I'd thought of it.

I'm astonished.

After all the **** heaped on Hillary, yeah, you'd think they could take some name calling. But when you drink the cool aid, there's no going back..you're in for the long haul.

What amuses me the most is how the Republicans in here went nuts over Hillary's bogus claim of dodging sniper fire. Four years! Four ****ing years over one lie...and now the protect a president who cannot get through a morning without issuing a whopper.

It's no wonder nothing ever gets done and other countries are passing the US is so many sectors, all the energy in the country goes into fighting each other.
Its not name calling. It's openly attempting to impeach the potus.

Trump was wire tapped? or was it 1 person in the campaign? Like George P.

Who told you all that?

Emails, and it was George P- That was the cracker that lead to the CI. Also IIRC Carter Page had an ongoing FISA warrant.

link, please

That article doesn't say anything about "Someone in Trump Tower was making & receiving phone calls from Russia." And it certainly didn't say any such calls were the reason for the FISA warrant.

Furthermore, the only mention of Trump Tower in that article was in this paragraph:

In March, Trump made unsubstantiated claims about U.S. surveillance of Trump Tower in New York. Later that month, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and a Trump transition official, charged that details about people “associated with the incoming administration, details with little apparent foreign intelligence value” were “widely disseminated” in intelligence community reporting. He said none of the surveillance was related to Russia. The FISA order on Page is unrelated to either charge.

And then, you refer to Kushner...who isn't mentioned at all in that article.

Given all this, I have to surmise that you are just making **** up.

btw, what about those emails and "George P-"? Maybe you are making THAT up, as well?

?

Kushner made a trip to Russia in late 2016 to meet with his Putin-appointed oligarch banker buddy Sergey Gorkov. Phone calls to/from Russia from Trump Tower, if only to set up appointments, would justify the FISA warrant.

Yeah it is all fake news.

Sorry...no. It wouldn't justify a FISA warrant. People from all over the US call and set up appointments with Russians. Hell, people have actually gone to other countries to talk directly to officials in those countries (Hillary people, for example). Do you think a FISA court is going to approve wiretapping on ALL of them?

Of course, maybe we would if the judge is working with crooked FBI people.

We just might find out something like that did occur.

Trump also has the right to defend himself from false accusations

So let him do so in court.
