Countries like China, Korea, Vietnam, ... and Russia to a lesser extent have these rather harsh legal systems for one reason and one reason only. They all have known the terrorism and perfidy of the USA and to allow a totally open society just means more CIA money and evil entering their countries with the usual end result, US control of the government and the countries' wealth.

You don't mean that, I hope. You might not like the American system. But to try to ameliorate the situation in China by pointing at the US President talking with the Chinese or Russian leaders is really stretching credulity a touch.

leftist admiration of communism? What a load of crap. Guess what's gonna happen to Cuba when the last communist revolutionary dies? It's gonna become more liberal. Same with Iran- if the theocrats ever loosen up the society will become, yes, more liberal. China, for all it's a deplorable tyranny, has become a bit more liberal since the days of Mao and the Cultural Revolution.
All those hard-line communists? They're the conservative element in China.

Ya see, if you weren't being blatantly insulting, you would post factual information to prove that you're better educated and more knowledgable. But, you didn't do that. You flung an insult and just expect everyone to take your word for it. Why? Because you're unable to post factual information that proves that you're better educated and more knowledgable.

Therein lies the problem with the Left. You all are convinced of your own superiority and everyone else should accept it and shutup. That causes two problems for you: 1) it alienates people you're trying to sell your brand to and 2) it inhibits your ability to learn. The latter being the more catastrophic of the two.
