Repeating yourself doesn't make it any more true than it was the first time. And you don't even try to stay on point.
What we do, and what they are capable of doing comparatively to us, are entirely irrelevant to the actual point of this conversation.
I've explained exactly why at least three times.
Whether you're intentionally obtuse or just aren't capable of better is pretty much beside the point by now. If you want my responses, read my previous posts, and try to do it for comprehension.
You originally made the following argument:
Yes, their claims on our air routes and setups of challenge zones in the South China Sea, as well as their military restructuring specifically geared as against the US Navy, make this abundantly clear.
I think I completely refuted that argument by pointing out they have claimed the South China Sea since their founding in 1947 - thus this is not new, their defense budget is a tiny fraction of ours (their navy in particular is tiny compared to ours so I am not sure what your point is there), we have a symbiotic economy that would make war of any kind extremely unlikely, they spend little on social spending (despite your claims), and most of their spending is on investments in their own economy - which furthers my original claim that they are an economic rival, not a military foe.
Now, you may disagree with that, but its not moving the goal posts, nor is it a lack of reading comprehension as you so condescendingly put it.
To be condescending myself. This is what I think. You have read some articles, mostly editorials I would imagine, that argue that China is our next threat on the world stage. You have never spent time there. You don't know the culture or the history of the country, much less its internal politics and because you don't know it, you think its somehow irrelevant, which I think is absurd. My point is, I think you are arguing from ignorance. I don't even think you knew until I pointed it out that they have claimed the South China Sea since their founding in 1947. I don't think you knew that their social spending was so little. I don't think you have ever even read the The China Daily to see what their perspective even is.
It is like judging the United States intentions while knowing nothing of our history, our internal politics, our culture and so on.
