Public opposition to tax bill grows as vote approaches

Did you even read what you posted? Since when does PERCEPTION equal REALITY

For those among us who couldn't understand my OP the first time you read it, why don't you try to read it again slowly and maybe you'll catch on.

Here are my words, again.

Come on, Republicans. You have a golden opportunity to pass a bill that simplifies the tax code and gives permanent tax relief to the people you most need to get on your side - the middle class. You need to live up to your promise to reduce the deficit. You need to at least put forth the appearance of not wanting to help the wealthy and the corporations.

But you didn't. This bill is bad, and will negatively impact you for a very long time. This is history repeating itself. Look at what the ACA did to the Democrats.

It's depressing.

Now read them, digest them and stop asking stupid questions.

Then if you don't like the thread, leave. Either that or stop asking asinine questions.

I don't like your distortion of reality and that makes you a liberal. Perception does not equal reality. THERE IS NO FRICKEN BILL!! When there is and when there are results we can discuss them until then you refuse to answer a direct question, how does someone else keeping more of what they earn affect you, your family, and hurt this country? All I see from you is jealousy and that makes you a liberal.

Again one more time, WHAT BILL????? The bill is bad, why??? You react like a liberal and offer nothing specific

I don't give a god damn what you "like". If you can't catch on to what I posted in my OP, that's your problem. Now go away to your Trump Fan Club meeting with the other liberals like yourself who want the Republicans to lose their majorities.

Now you're just trolling. I can't stomach another one of your liberal clueless posts. You should be ashamed of yourself, but you aren't.

You posted an article that offers PERCEPTION which isn't reality, why don't you wait for the bill before trashing it and when you do trash it provide specifics. Stop acting like a liberal, there is no bill YET but for some reason you are already trashing PERCEPTION

The House passed a bill, the Senate hasn't, there is no bill, that is reality and you don't like that FACT. Noticed you still wont answer the question about how tax cuts hurt you, your family and this country? You want a middle class tax cut, let's see what happens with the compromise bill

Of-course you do, but its still just your opinion.

Whats not a opinion is you and your ilk did in fact lose the election last November, which means your powerless from stopping Trump and the GOP from enacting their agenda and also from unraveling the disastrous agenda of the Obama adminsitration

So insults and ad homs are all you have left, its a bit sad really.

LOL - "your ilk". "Disastrous agenda". Keep up the good work - I love a good chuckle.

Supply side economics have worked for twenty some years? Are you ****ing kidding or were you in a coma for the second largest economic collapse in world history? And I should also point out that the largest economic collapse in world history was also due to VOODOO ECONOMICS.l km

which had nothing to do with supply side economics, thanks for proving you don't even know what it is.
i have studied economics classes i after never heard of voodoo economics maybe you can define it for everyone here.

what in the bill is bad. I have run the numbers at least 3 or 4 times. I am going to save about 3k dollars compared to what i am going to pay this year.
it could go higher.

if you are serious and do not like the bill you have the option of returning whatever savings you are going to receive back to the government.
nothing says that you have to take the tax savings you are going to get.

What rush? there are two bills, you have no idea what is being passed. Now answer the question how does someone keeping more of what they earn affect you and your family? Any tax cut for the American taxpayer is a good deal regardless of the leftwing rhetoric

Everyone, including you would have a better idea of what's being passed if congress would slow down, allow public hearings, analysis of the CBO, etc. Again, what's the hurry?

Finally the premise of your question assumes I'll get to keep any of my money as a result of the GOP tax plan. That's misguided. Ask me an intelligent question and I'll answer it.

Finally I don't answer to you. Also assuming your premise is sound is misguided.

Allowing people to keep more of what they earn doesn't need hearings but since it drives the left crazy, love it. Analysis of CBO? CBO never addresses economic growth so one more time tell us how someone else keeping more of what they earn hurts you, your family or the country? You don't answer to anyone which makes you a true progressive running from reality.

What is bad about the bill?

Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
It provides tax cuts to people and organizations who don't need them, and covers the cost by providing much smaller tax cuts to people who do, while cutting off deductions/loopholes they use. Not to mention the tax cuts for lower tax brackets sunset and the ones for higher brackets don't.
It closes the wrong loopholes and opens new ones in unneeded places.

It will grow the deficit and cause minimal or negative economic growth.
Certainly, corporations who save money due to it will not hire people because of it - maybe a few so they can say they did, but nothing significant.

Possibly worst of all, it perpetuates the myth of trickle-down economics.

Were you this whiny about yourself during the 8 years that Obama was in the White House? I mean, did you beat yourself with a hair shirt and complain about how you lost the elections and couldn't see your agenda put in place? Funny, I don't remember it.

Did I call attention to his numerous domestic and foreign policy failures over his two terms ? Of-course.

Did my insight and criticisms ever rise to the level of the epic temper tantrum the Left has been throwing over the last year ? Hardly.

And this is a political debate forum, you realize that dont you ? Its not a chat room or support group for people suffering with Trump derangment syndrome

If you dont like criticisms of Obama and only want to attack Trump just so you can rack up a few virtual high fives from like minded TDS sufferers, then maybe this isnt the place for you

Nice try.

The cost of living in blue states, because of massive state taxes on people and goods, requires significantly more income to provide the same standard of living in red states, which don't burden their residents with massive state government welfare and entitlement costs.

$100 in Ohio = $500 in California (exaggeration for effect, but you get the point)

Higher salaries to accommodate this difference equals more tax dollars.

So again, nice try. California is bankdrupt and falling apart at the seams. And now they can't write off their crushing state and local taxes on the rest of us.
State and local taxes pay for things in the state and locally, which means that federal taxes are not needed for those things.

I assume that is the reason that deductions of those taxes are currently possible (and may be still, even if the tax bill is passed in some form).

Worked out great in Kansas.

We already know the majority of the bill.

They have lowered the tax brackets. so instead of

0,10,15

it is 0, 10 ,12

which is where the majority of middle income people fall.

remember everything is AGI. IE what you pay after deductions.

they have doubled the standard deduction which is a huge boon to most people since they take the standard deduction anyway they do not itemize.
also more people will probably itemize now as they cannot get more than the standard deduction.

they have doubled the child tax credit to 2k dollars.

i have run the numbers i will save about 5% next year compared to the current system.
that doesn't include the child tax credit. that is a huge boost to my income.

Obama's agenda both Foreign and Domestic was disastrous.

History will not be kind to Obama because there's just no way to justify some of the things that happened under his administration

Thing is, we're learnings new things on almost a daily basis, like Obama's DOJ basically running interference for Hamas's drug running operation

Or his DOJ conspiring with the Hillary campaign and Fusion GPS and the DNC to produce anti-Trump opposition research which was then usef as the basis for a Russian collusion investigation and to obtain FISA warrants.

His administration will go down as the most lawless and corrupt administration in our Nations history, and had Hillary won all of this would have been swept under the rug.

Good thing she didnt, amiright !?

Worked out great in Kansas.

We're going to see Kansas writ large.

We're also going to see the Republicans in Congress pretend they're not responsible.

Of course, some Kansans still insist that their tax cuts worked out hunky-dory and they're irritated that their legislature abandoned it.

If it passes I am looking at roughly 1.8k with the current plan. Been having some money issues lately so it would be awesome if it comes through (house decided to self destruct a few months back)

Exactly. If this bill is gonna help out the middle class so much, why does it expire for them?

Didn't read the entire thread so it may have been answered already. Ultimately the reason they will expire is due to manipulating numbers so that the bill can be passed without Democrat support. If they had made the individual permanent and the corporate set to expire, should Democrats take control they would certainly let it expire, however should they try to let the middle class tax cuts expire Republicans can use that against them. If Republicans had enough votes both would be permanent.

Its a 20% increase in my taxes. Do I get reimbursed by those that are sending their savings per your plan?

Stupid is as stupid does and this is a stupid piece of legislation.

Where does this incredible knowledge come from, how do you know what someone else needs? How about answering the question, how does anyone keeping more of what THEY EARN hurt you, your family, or the country? Is there ever going to be a time when the radical left stops being jealous and envious of what others have?

You claim tax cuts raise the deficit when that is a bold face lie as Treasury shows but I forgot the left doesn't like data, they just like opinions and leftwing talking points.

Trolling? really? Brahahahahahahahahaha.
Since you have graced our presence at DP after a sabbatical, I have been keeping count of your snarky anti-Trump posts. From Monday through Friday you manage to crank out from 60 to almost a hundred a day! My G-d are you getting paid per post? You have no right to accuse someone else of trolling.
