Four senators urge Franken to reconsider resignation: report | TheHill

At least four senators, including two Democrats, have reportedly said that Sen. Al Franken

I called it!

Who didn't see this coming? That moral high ground play with Roy Moore didn't pan out like Dems hoped, so now they want their dirty little boy back in his seat.

Ummm.....4 Senators out of 99. Only two are Democrats, and Manchin is barely a Democrat. In reality, most of the people who are saying Franken shouldn't resign seem to be Republicans. Likely they are worried that Franken setting this precident will ultimately force the resegnation of more politicians most of which will be Republicans.

That moral high ground play with Roy Moore didn't pan out like Dems hoped, so now they want their dirty little boy back in his seat.

Roy Moore lost his Senate seat. Minnesota's Democrat governor replaced Franken with a Democrat. Seems to have worked very well.

Now, I do think that overall Franken was a very good Senator by and large. If he wanted to try and run for his seat again in the future, I might consider it if he properly makes amends for his past indiscretions. As of right now though I don't think you're going to see too many Democrats calling for his return in the immediate future.

It's literally two Democratic senators, that's just 4% of the Democrats in the Senate. It's not like the leader of the Democratic Party came out in support of Franken like Trump came out in support of Moore.

It's early, so I could be wrong, but I think you're going to take it on the chin for this one...hehe... 2 Dems prove your point? Ok... Personally I'd wait a bit longer before gloating...but what do I know...hehe

Doing as they are told. The leaders in the DNC assign certain senators/representatives to float this stuff out there. Just like Gillibrand. That's the process.

Greasing the wheel to bring him back.

First, that seat will be a Republican again very soon.

Second, they were trying to establish a moral-ground standing against the GOP after those years of Bill Clinton and countless others that they excused away. A Moore victory, in their minds, would have allowed them to get a footing. He lost, which kept the GOP in place on that issue. Even in good ole Alabama, no less.

That ruined it for Franken, who begrudgingly agreed to play along with this plan, IMO. He could have come back in comparison to the charges against Moore to his if Moore won.

However, they're floating it out there.

Who is telling Joe Manchin to criticize the Democrats' calls for Franken's resignation? Is the head of the DNC saying to him "Hey, go out and attack members of our party now!"? I think you're confusing the DNC with Donald Trump.

if Trump doesn't resign for being a sexual predator then Franken should just tell everyone to go **** themselves & stay in the Senate ..............

That's literally a baseless assertion with no grounding in reality to support it. This isn't the Presidential election, You , any just make stuff up on the spot.

good call on Moore winning the election. Is it safe to assume you think Hillary is in jail?
