So not resigning. Just going to finish his term and then leave apparently.

Farenthold to retire from House amid harassment accusations

Texas Republican Rep. Blake Farenthold won't seek re-election next year, two Republicans said Thursday, adding his name to the list of lawmakers leaving Congress amid sexual harassment allegations that have cost powerful men their jobs in politics, the arts and other businesses.

The accusations against Farenthold first surfaced in 2014, when a former aide sued him over sexually suggestive comments and behavior and said she'd been fired after she complained. The lawmaker said he engaged in no wrongdoing and the case was settled in 2015. But the House Ethics Committee said last week that it would investigate Farenthold after congressional sources said he'd paid an $84,000 settlement using taxpayers' money. Though Farenthold said he'd reimburse the Treasury Department, such payments have drawn public criticism from people saying lawmakers should use their own money for such settlements.

He's a creepy little guy. He should leave now, along with C. Hastings (200k settlement) and Kihuen.

His ass needs to leave before Christmas. Give him time to pack up and then beat Santa out of town.

Don't forget about Trey Gowdy with his $150,000 tax payer paid settlement.

This is that really creepy looking man who appeared in a photograph wearing onesie pajamas standing next to some girl dressed like an S&M mistress, right?

Why isn't he leaving Congress now?

It took ONE guy to screw up ducky pajamas for everyone else.

The Ethics investigation should still go ahead. He still has approx 11 months left in his term.

I agree and If they find against him they should force him to reimburse the govt but I don''t know if that is possible or legal.

From what I understand he is a wealthy man, possibly halt his pension???

Maybe but again, not sure if that is legal. It might be depending on the findings of the ethics investigation.

They can for retired Military, dependent upon the charges. That is what I understand

His ass needs to leave before Christmas. Give him time to pack up and then beat Santa out of town.

Every sinlge one of these bastards that has ever required a payout in his/her name from that secret sexual assault slush fund should be publicly tarred and feathered, then gang raped by inmates of the nearest institution who have been convicted and are serving time for those types of actions.

Seems the guy doesn't know what's going on.

Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-Texas), who announced Thursday he would retire next year, told reporters he doesn't "know what all is going on" after two additional staffers came forward the day before to accuse him of sexual misconduct in the workplace.
“There’ve been so many I don’t know what all is going on,” Farenthold said when asked if he denied the latest allegations.

"I had never served in public office before. I had no idea how to run a congressional office. And as a result, I allowed a workplace culture to take root in my office that was too permissive and decidedly unprofessional," Farenthold said in a video posted to Facebook earlier in the day.

I keep asking, why would anyone vote for this guy?

He did say he was going to pay back the settlement. I won't hold my breath.
Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-Texas) said Monday he intends to reimburse taxpayers for the $84,000 spent settling a sexual harassment suit filed by his former communications director.

“I’m going to hand a check over this week to probably Speaker Ryan, or somebody, and say ‘look, here’s the amount of my settlement, give it back to the taxpayers,’ ” Farenthold told the Corpus Christi, Texas, NBC affiliate.

Well as we both know, win the primary, applies to safe D & R districts, you get elected.

Here is a disgusting example where the Party in WVa should have barred this prick from the primary.
29 coal miners dead. He received the max penalty - 250 K and 1 year in jail. Something wrong with the laws.

So Hasting and Kihuen are getting wrapped up in that hush money fund?

R behind his name implies "Ridiculously hypocritical standards."

Hey, how charming. A felon looking to run for an elected position as a Republican. No worries, Steve Bannon will endorse him and campaign for him, like he's backing the convicted felon in New York who also just cooled his heels for a while in the pokey.

God bless America and drain that swamp!

Please tell me he didn't really say that, and it was Trump's lawyer fooling around on Facebook after Trump took his phone away from him.

Um, dip****, you don't need to have run a Congressional office to know that you don't behave like a horny three-toed sloth.

Someone needs to run this schmuck out of town, and quickly.

He used taxpayers money to get out from under a sex scandal and he gets to stay to when?

No, no, no...Americans need to wake up. This guy goes NOW and he is stripped of his pension for having defrauded the American people. Get a backbone and bring these guys down. It's the ONLY way you're ever going to get your country back
