Kentucky lawmaker found dead after sexual assault allegations

Again...5 yeas after the fact...was there any tangible proof?
BTW...your 'compassion' is always nice to see. Especially from someone who requires zero proof of anything.
Opinions do not require proof. Do you bitch at every religious person in existence because there's no tangible proof of anything they believe?

Oh please.
Your heart is stuck in SJW-mode and it would be good if you just owned your 'compassionate' heart.
If you had any real compassion, you'd be howling mad that this guy was cornered by this gross #MeToo crap, and killed himself as a result.
Very much like Carl Sargeant did in Britain. Please stop your faux feeling for this guys family.
Says the guy concern trolling about the poor dead child molester.

"without waking his daughter"

You're trying to grasp at straws to find some kind of hole. There are plenty of reasons people don't get woken up even when things are happening right next to them.

Video or it didn't happen, dammit!

My experience in these kind of situations is anecdotal, but having worked dozens of cases on pedophiles, declarations of innocence followed by suicide is not all that uncommon. I do not know of an instance where a truly innocent person killed themselves because they were accused of being a child molester, although I'm sure it's probably happened before.

This man's predation caught up with him. He took the easy way out. Good. Save the state some money. These types of people deserve no mercy. None.

Ya I've seen your 'compassion' in action.
No charges were ever laid. More than likely because no proof was ever provided.
It was investigated, no charges laid, and revived now. Go figure...

I know none of you SJWs will take this seriously, but as this next couple years move along, remember I said the following:
The is going to be a reckoning for this #MeToo thing. A backlash that may just be as nasty and blindly destructive as this is.
When it happens...and it will...some of you may have the intelligence to ask if maybe y'all went just a little too far with this.
Remember...for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

I don't want to spend one of my free WaPo links on this story and so don't know about other accusations. But from CNN about the 2013 incident:

His accuser said the alleged sexual assault took place in the early hours of New Year's Day in 2013 when she was 17, according to the center's explosive investigative report published Monday. The accuser, identified as Maranda Richmond, is now 21.

She said she was staying in a living area of Louisville's Heart of Fire Church, where Johnson served as pastor, when he drunkenly kissed her and fondled her underneath her clothes, according to the investigative report.

Richmond reported the incident to authorities in April 2013, and the Louisville Metro Police Department initially opened an investigation, but closed it without charging Johnson, according to the Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting. What exactly is this Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting? CNN reports that this Center "got its hands" on police reports from 2013, and I thought that was interesting phrasing.

Stop disrespecting those of us who have posted our sympathies to this man's family. I'm tired of reading your angry and rude comments about this man's family and our words about them.
So don't read my posts.
Frankly I find your 'sympathies' nothing more than crocodile tears.

Opinions do not require proof. Do you bitch at every religious person in existence because there's no tangible proof of anything they believe?
Yes I do as a matter of fact.
I find the 'Dirty 3' religions in high contempt, and I make no bones about that.

Says the guy concern trolling about the poor dead child molester.
The accuser was 17 at the time.
17 is not a child. But you, more than anyone here, love to toss about the accusation of 'child molester'.
That makes you...a common troll.

Hopefully his accusers feel no guilt about his choice to end his life.

Wow is right. It sounds as if he carried a lot of demons with him.

I always feel so sorry for the loved ones when I read these stories. My heart goes out to his wife. She now has to live with this.

Sounds like she already had stuff to live with. Let's sing a song about Jesus.

In his suicide note he declares his innocence and then goes on and on about God and Satan.

Right, if you accuse anyone of anything you are Satan. I don't love ya Dan, sorry.

That's lovely, but I rather think that your little "#MeToo thing" is part of the backlash. Still, I do get what you're saying; we are witnessing a bit of a revival of the caterwauling, wailing, and feckless attempt of the white patriarchal fundamentalist antebellum planter aristocracy supremacist perceptual reality to revive itself. It's quite comical really, Polynesian tiki torches and all.

From what I understand, the man's daughter was in the room while this sexual assault allegedly happened. Yet the daughter did not wake, nor does she have any idea of what did or did not go on that night. I figure that's most likely why the case was dropped in the first place.

Ya I've gotten to the point now where I won't even change the channel to CNN. I don't really like FOX and never really have.
So now I learn and get my news from the Internet...mostly. Be that as it may, this continuing #MeToo thing has proven to be as dangerous as I've been saying it is. some posters here carry on as if I've spat in their Corn Flakes, because I don't blindly believe crap that smells bad. Last night I hung around with my wife, while she watched You Tube news. I tried to explain to her that Paul Watson is as much of an opportunistic little sh1t as Don Lemon is on CNN. But she's a Bohemian country girl and...well...she thinks most of the women here are nuts so...
Its been pointed out that Dan Johnson had an issue with internet porn too. That doesn't bode well for his claims of innocents, and can only serve as evidence of his character. Yet was he the porn addict they claim her was, or had he visited porn sites, as most people have I'd imagine, out of curiosity? This particular issue with porn, is another reason I believe the Internet needs real policing and throttled control. This free for all is also being weaponized. But that's another debate...
Real sex offenders of either sex should be dealt with. And its incredibly unfortunate but, proving offense is often impossible. Its a common "He said, She said" thing. Throughout my life I've learned that when I hear such arguments, the reality of the situation is smack in the middle. Gawd-damn near every time.
Be careful with this new weapon you have people. For as much as I know that men can be and are sh1theads, in the most general of terms you understand, hell hath no fury, like a woman scorned. I just cannot blindly believe any one side completely, because I know the truth of unsubstantiated accusations, lies smack in the middle of the 2 side's stories.

Hopefully his accusers feel no guilt about his choice to end his life.

If I was the girl he molested? I wouldnt. He paid the consequences for his choices. He chose suicide after choosing molestation and it appears, arson.

Screw that. The religious fanatic was guilty...

She reported it; and the cops looked away because he was a community leader and an evangelical. Over time he would go on to liken the Obamas to monkeys. This pedophilia accusation came back to haunt him. And he was married with children and grandchildren looking on?

In the end we have yet another religious leader whose life involves sexual and racist scandal. His last act on this earth was to commit a grave sin. Odd he would kill himself over a single accusation though. One might wonder, now that he was a politician in an environment where women are coming forward, what else might he had been ashamed of. And he wanted people to think this was about some 9/11 PTSD? Bull....****.

Jesus said that we would know people not by what they say, but by what they do.

Good point. A backlash to male dominance and abuse there of. Its not like I don't understand and even sympathize with the movement. Its really more that I know humans, and don't have allot of faith in their ability to moderate their own actions. Especially when they start gathering in large numbers. 1 Fenton Lum, alone in a room with his thoughts, can produce genius. 1000 Fenton Lums, produce somewhat less than stellar results. Group-think is a bad thing to engage in. Just ask the souls of the thousands of "witches" burned at the stake by your friend and mine, the Catholics.
Still, I do get what you're saying; we are witnessing a bit of a revival of the caterwauling, wailing, and feckless attempt of the white patriarchal fundamentalist antebellum planter aristocracy supremacist perceptual reality to revive itself. There's that too. Agreed.
As I was saying...group-think bad.

Its so sad that common sense, and the ability to actually examine, question, and come to rational conclusions, has taken flight to be replaced by chaotic fury.
I'll tell ya one thing though...man cannot know real peace and prosperity, as a whole, until man is willing to honestly look himself in the mirror and admit his own failings. Until he matures enough to do so, this utopian dream of global peace and harmony, total social equality, is a fuc!n' pipe-dream.

If I was the girl he molested? I wouldnt. He paid the consequences for his choices. He chose suicide after choosing molestation and it appears, arson.

Agreed. It isn't their fault that he killed himself. He had inner demons.
