more mental health access could change things
what would you like see changing (we all want to see less deaths and illegal shootings )
For starters, I'd like to see the end to background checks, and do away with the laws that prevent felons from owning fire arms. We need to kill the black market, and if felons could get legal fire arms, why would they need the black market.
Then strict, super strict, gun storage laws. AS in you can go to jail for having an unsecured weapon in the same house as a child. You live alone, by all means leave your guns wherever. YOu got grandkids that come to visit, put em in the safe or do 5 years for child endangerment. Kid gets your gun and shoots itself or another kid, **** you need to do 20-life.
At the point of sale, every gun vendor should have an employee with some sort of training in the mental health field. Like a pharmacist has to be able to spot junkies, Gun Vendors need to be able to spot the guy about shoot up a gay nightclub. Simple enough, they just refuse sale until the person returns with a note from a mental health professional giving the all clear. No rights violated, vendors have the legal right to refuse sale to anyone long as its not race, sexual orientation, religion. etc.
And offer gun safety courses as an elective to seniors in high school.
Do all of these things, and no ones rights will be infringed, and we will see a measurable improvement. But I been saying this for two years, it's not NRA approved fear mongering and hence will not sell more guns, so you'll never be able to acknowledge any kind of merit in it. Gotta keep the unwashed masses afraid, gotta move that product, eh Turtle.
