Bannon rails against Romney in Alabama speech: ‘You hid behind your religion’ to avoid Vietnam

Odd thing to say, given that Captain Chicken**** McBonespur didn't serve a red second in the military.

Nor has any of the Trump offspring served. I can understand stepping aside for religious reasons, but to attack Romneys family? WTF !

I would expect nothing less from a party that would endorse a man who conned American Veterans of their 9/11GI Bill education benefits.

Why didn't Romney serve at all? Bannon is correct. And in the U.S., there's always a military conflict somewhere, so its not like Romney couldn't have served his country. Bannon is right, Romney was a coward then and he's a coward now. That's why Trump made a spectacle and humiliated Romney in public. Forcing Romney to make multiple public appearances for Secratary of State and had Romney prostrate himself before Trump before Romney was discarded like used toilet paper.

WTF?

Okay, Trump never served either (those bone spurs!). So he's a coward. I agree with that. Thanks for the admission.

Un****ingbelievable hypocrisy and idiocy. This vulgar and vile man, who claims responsibility for putting Trump in the Oval Office, has the audacity to go after Romney's lack of service in Vietnam, when Trump had how many deferments for "education" and "bone spurs"?

And this man is representing the "new" Republican Party. At a rally for an accused pervert. And the crowd cheered like mad.

It makes me cry that this is the kind of **** that holds power in this once great Republican Party.

Just start your own damn party and leave the Republican Party alone. Take Trump and his fan nation with you, Mr. Bannon. Who, by the way, made a fortune in Hollywood and Goldman Sachs. I wonder if he knew about Weinstein while he was cleaning up in Hollywood. He probably did. That would explain why he's so passionate about a man who cops feels through little girls' training bras.

FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Former White House political strategist Stephen K. Bannon rallied for Republican Senate nominee Roy Moore by picking another fight with a figure from the so-called Republican establishment: 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

“Judge Roy Moore has more honor and integrity in that pinkie finger than your entire family has in its whole DNA,” Bannon said in his 30-minute speech at Oak Hollow Farm. “You hid behind your religion. You went to France to be a missionary while guys were dying in rice paddies in Vietnam. Do not talk to me about honor and integrity,” he said, referencing Romney’s Mormon faith.

Why is he acting like he fought in the Vietnam War?

He doesnt hold power. As far as I know he has no official or unofficial position in the GOP, whatsoever. Also, avoiding Vietnam was smart. I wish everyone who served could have avoided it.

"He" who? I mean, which "he" are you talking about - Bannon or Romney?

See Signature below. Your faux outrage is showing once again. Also why does a President need military experience? Even if you do join the military, it's highly doubtful your Presidential duties will be similar to what you did there unless you became a high ranking officer.

Guess you didn't expect resistance to your drivel. C'ya.

Good thing he didn't get resistance to his pointing out facts. You are the one spewing drivel.

Bannon is there to fire up the ignorant White Trash.....Which apparently in Alabama is an important part of Roy Moore's support

1. The "why" is important. Trump didn't serve. Romney didn't serve. Trump doesn't wax poetically about how he wishes he could have served. Romney avoided service while going on a bike riding tour in "magnificent France" and stayed in a palace while in Paris.

2. McCain is a piece of garbage. I've been calling him that since 2007. You don't know me pal.

3. Lol wut? McCain doesn't give damn about our troops. That's why he gets his jollies cutting benefits for them while in Congress. Sanders, of all people, correctly called him out on it. If you don't want to have to spend money on veterans benefits then don't send our people to war.

4. Obama literally wanted to go to War in Syria. Not a single strike. Not a single attack. Not aiding an ally: full blown, all out war. How ignorant are you? Very much so apparently.

5. Your comments about N.K. are completely baseless. You're buying the same MSM garbage that insisted "IRAQ DEFINITELY HAS WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION". Lol u. You've already shown yourself to be woefully ignorant.

McCain is garbage. You can just look at his conduct in his past 30 years to see that. Romney is of the same stripe. They are the lowest forms of human beings on this planet. And as for conduct, you're the one using strawman arguments and using baseless facts.

:lamo

1. Yes, Trump was a draft dodger who attacked POWs, and his supporters continued his attacks on POWs. We all know about that, but it's nice of you to double down on exposing yourself.

2. No, McCain is not a "piece of garbage." You being dead wrong since 2007 does not change how wrong you are.

3. Lol what? No Trump supporter has any room to try and claim anyone else "doesn't care about the military."

4. Yes, Obama wanted to crush ISIS. Trump supporters freaked out about it. Wasn't ISIS supposed to have bend destroyed by now?

5. Oh look, not only did you forgot about Iraq's WMDs, you are making excuses for North Korea.

No, it's pretty clear that Trump supporters are the lowest form of human beings on the planet, as your drivel shows.

I am not fond of either one of them so this is just entertainment and fodder to fill up slow news days. It's kinda entertaining to watch them fight.

McCain's not a piece of garbage? He voted against making Martin Luther King jr's birthday a federal holiday. No wonder the establishment Republicans love him. He's a hardcore classic racist and the reason why the GOP can't get minority voters. People like McCain can't die soon enough. And Mitt Romney couldn't stand Martin Luther King's family. The GOP establishment is chock full of hate-filled bigots and scum. I'm not really surprised to see leftists coming out of the woodwork to sing the praises of bigots like McCain and Romney.

Except, unlike Trump and his cultists, McCain has already admitted that was the wrong decision. He didn't try to blame Democrats, he didn't invent a conspiracy against him, he didn't start screaming about "uppity minorities"--- he simply admitted he was wrong and changed his position.

Something which Trump supporters can't seem to handle.

It's really hilarious listening to a Trump supporter crying about "bigotry"

McCain admitted it was the wrong decision because Phoenix was going to lose its Super Bowl award. Nothing more and nothing less. The sins and failures of McCain would be enough to fill up a separate thread. And Romney is not much better.

It depends on the context. Does Trump advocate global war while never having served in the military? No, therefore he's not a coward.
I don't get your logic. Trump willing to let other people's sons, brothers and fathers go to war -- but getting a doctor to say that he has bone spurs so he can avoid service, doesn't make him a coward? I think it makes him both a coward and a chicken hawk.

Romney had a moral objection to war.

I really love it when those who didn't serve criticize others who also never served. I'm of the opinion if one is going to criticize someone for not serving in Vietnam, then the person doing the criticizing better have served himself in Vietnam. If not, the person criticizing is a first class hypocrite.

Far as I'm concerned whether one served or not if of the right age in Vietnam is irrelevant to the present. That war has been long over and today we have friendly relation with Vietnam to include our two military's cooperating in certain aspects which is growing. I don't care if Trump, Romney or Bannon ever served in Vietnam or not. Water under the bridge.

As for Trump, he stated his life out as a democrat and then switched parties 7 times that we know of. He isn't a republican as far as I'm concerned. He isn't a Democrat or anything else besides an egotistical opportunist. Trump holds no loyalty to the Republican Party or anything else except himself. I would also say the Republican Party of Eisenhower and Reagan is dead. Even the Republican Party of G.W. Bush is dead. What it has become is something those three would never recognize. Trump supporters today refer to those three as RINO's. Yet they were loyal Republicans and stood for ideas and conservative ideology long held by that party. What we have now is not a Republican Party ideology or even a conservative one. It is an ideology of whatever Trump says it is in any one particular day. Which can change the next day. Trump's ideology is whatever pops into his head at the time he speaks or twitters. One day it will be this, the next day the complete opposite.

Ah, yet more nonsense based on nothing but your own opinion. As usual, Trump supporters value their feelings over the facts of the matter.

The sins and failings of Trump and his cult take up quite a few threads. There's simply no one worse.

Bannon likes to win, but he only has one trick. Make people hate. He appeals to lowest and most powerful emotions in people.

"Some men just want to watch the world burn."

Appetizing bunch, Republicans.

Hillary, which is why she lost. I also noticed that we don't have "president Romney" or "President McCain", so they are obviously worse as well. When it comes to presidential bids, they're both second class D-list rejects.

Wait, are you implying that Trump actually had the ability to stop the Vietnam war as a 20 year old? What exactly do you mean by "let other people's etc"? He couldn't stop them. Now take this two-faced feckless mealy-mouthed coward...

It is unclear whether Mr. Romney’s hawkish Vietnam stance in 1966, when he was 18 years old and first exposed to the larger world, presaged his hawkish foreign policy stance as a presidential candidate in 2012, in which he has promised more confrontational approaches toward China, Iran and Russia than those adopted by President Obama.

Was Trump getting deferments while literally demanding other students go fight and die in Vietnam? Methinks you haven't actually researched the depth of Romney' duplicity. Romney sure didn't seem to have any moral objections to war and I think it shows a lack of your own intellectual honesty to conjour up excuses out of thin air to apologize for Romney's evil. Romney is truly a disgusting a reprehensible reptile. He had absolutely no moral objection to war. He just wanted other people to fight in it. Trump got deferments, yes. But he didn't demand other people fight in wars he himself would not.

To be anti abortion and then to holler about a person living up to their religious beliefs is just pig ass ignorant. I am not a Romney fan but there are a lot of other reasons not to like Romney.

No, I was saying that Trump weaseled to get a deferment and didn't care that others died in his place.
