In what would be a momentous shift of United States foreign policy in the Middle East, President Donald Trump is expected to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel on Wednesday and initiate the process of relocating the U.S. embassy to the city from Tel Aviv, two U.S. officials and a source close to the White House confirmed to ABC News.

Why? What's the point?

I'm sure at the bottom of the decision it will be rooted in trying to piss someone off or thumb his nose at someone because that how all of his policies are formed, but... I wonder what the excuse is.

This is a shout out to the Religious Nut jobs in Israel and America...Of course no date is given...and it is doubtful it will happen...But trump just want those freaks to think it will

I hope you're correct that it's just a trial balloon. Putin probably likes the idea, and Bibi, but everyone else is screaming NO !!!.
