Manafort worked on op-ed with Russian while out on bail - CNNPolitics
Washington (CNN)Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort was ghostwriting an op-ed while out on bail last month with a Russian who has ties to the Russian intelligence service, Justice Department Special Counsel Robert Muller's team said Monday.

In a new filing Monday afternoon, Mueller's investigators said Manafort was working on an editorial in English as late as last Thursday and that it related to his political work for Ukraine, which factored into his money-laundering and foreign lobbying criminal charges.
The filing asks for the court to revisit a bail agreement Mueller's office and Manafort's lawyers made jointly last week. The court had not yet approved a change to his $10 million unsecured bail and house arrest.
"Even if the ghostwritten op-ed were entirely accurate, fair, and balanced, it would be a violation of this Court's November 8 Order if it had been published," prosecutors wrote. "The editorial clearly was undertaken to influence the public's opinion of defendant Manafort, or else there would be no reason to seek its publication (much less for Manafort and his long-time associate to ghostwrite it in another's name)."

I haven't seen anything else on this.

It would seem that his bail agreement might need to be revisited.

lock him up
lock him up
lock him up

Wow. That's pretty ballsy!

No, ballsy is jumping into the pool when your parents tell you not to because you should wait 30 minutes after eating. Ballsy is going all in with a ****ty hand in poker. Ballsy is smoking a joint before a job interview. This is proof of what we already knew, and Trump supporters denied for ages.

It will be interesting to see what new details will emerge.

What do they really know and how do they know it....

But the whole story is a great big WTH?????

Uh, ok. I still think it's ballsy.

Yeah, the judge put a gag order on both him and his attorney (after said attorney's rambling summation-style press conference), and Manafort, using an alias, broke it. What happens now depends on how pissed off the judge is by his obvious contempt of the court order. Nobody seems to think bail will be rescinded and Manafort will sit in a cell until trial, but his request to remove his leg monitor and permission to bounce around the country to all of his homes at will is probably off the table as well.

Manafort was working with a Russian known to have ties to Russia's Intelligence agency... and lives in Russia?? Duh! Does he not know by now that our intelligence agencies are monitoring those people, and btw any US citizens who happen to call them up and say, "Hey, I want to write a phony op-ed to make myself look good to beat this federal indictment, let's talk about it?"

What I think will piss the judge off a bit more than usual is that the op-ed piece was written by a Russian that had ties to the Russian intelligence service!!

I would call it arrogant and contemptuous.

I would easily place Manafort in the "Hey, y'all watch this ****" category; a real "road skallor."

It appears I used 'ballsy' incorrectly. I did not mean it in a good way. I meant it as in a dick move. Please put down the pitchforks and torches.

Ballsy is appropriate in the South Park hop-a-long balls kind of way.
