Senate Republicans pass $1.5 trillion tax bill

You know nothing of value--that's what we know.

By the way I am always willing to learn so please explain value to me? What value are the American taxpayers getting out of the 4 trillion dollar federal govt. and can it be done for a lot less? Why take dollars out of the state economy to fund the federal bureaucracy without cutting federal expenses FIRST? When was the last time the Federal Govt. cut spending? Oh, wait, Trump's budget proposal is 300 billion less than what Obama proposed and Trump's contribution to the debt 667 billion dollar deficit was 304 billion in his 8 months in office.

I seem to recall complaints about the deficit under Obama....Republicans can turn on a dime.

Democrats complain about the deficit under Trump.... Where was their concern when Obama run up the national debit about 9 trillion? Democrats turn on a penny! .

How about responding to the thread topic and tell me why tax cuts are considered an expense when govt. revenue has grown every time FIT is cut?

They didn't even read the bill they passed

I can't wait to see what the fine print will be for people like myself who are sole proprietors, LLC, and S CORP.

If there is enough wiggle room, I might actually hire a full time helper instead of using the useless dregs that Labor Finder sends over to me.

Labor finder sends Mexicans? Well the good news is that you'll stop avoiding hiring Americans right? right?

Are you a small business owner? I am, and I avoid hiring any permanents workers. I could keep a permanent crew of 10 at least, and keep them busy every day of the year. But I hire mostly mexican crews when I have a large project, and I turn down more work than I accept to avoid hiring Americans. I don't even care if they produce a phoney NC drivers license. I will photocopy it along with proof of workers comp to cover may azz.

Yet another cog in the destruction of the GOP. When they **** with medicare, they do so at their own peril.

What is the change(s) to medicare you cite?

I seem to recall complaints about the deficit under Obama....Republicans can turn on a dime.

When Reagan cut taxes, the economy took off like a rocket, and government revenues soared.

The Democrat Congress did what they do best... they pissed away the money.

Watch, government revenues will increase due to greater prosperity, and fewer people will be sucking on the government teet.

Now to get rid of the Socialist pig fat clogging up government’s arteries.

I seem to recall similar complaints about the same thing under Bush. Until the Dems took the majority. Then silence.

Almost makes you think these folks are identical and just playing their role in the staged battle, doesn't it?

It's not a $1.5 trillion tax cut. It's a $6 trillion tax cut for the rich, and a $4.5 trillion tax hike on everybody else.

I'm not rich by most definitions and I get a cut.

Where are people getting this hogwash?

Well one thing at least positive about this bill is that all that rhetoric about Returdicans supporting and being the Gunga Din's of the 1% is and was actually true. Hope a bunch of Middle Class Conservatives get a large increase in their tax bills.

I love this kind of automaton post.

If the reduction of the corporate tax attracts the creation of jobs by the corporate decision makers, is that not good for the job seekers?

Who do you think provides jobs in any particular location?

The blue states are paying their fair share. It's primarily red states that are dependent on the federal government

LOL, another misinformed liberal who needs someone else to take care of them. Only in the liberal world is it the state's responsibility to fund federal mandates and expenses. Use the following and put your state in to see exactly what money you get from the Federal Taxpayers and why?

Plus abortion legislation, killing Obamacare and a bunch of other stuff..

Zero debate, only hours to read, and the documents floating around have handwritten changes and big X on some pages.. the process would make even Putin embarrassed.

Was Obamacare killed?

What rag are you reading to grasp your fantasies?

The problem as I see it is that when you cut taxes, you have to cut services and other government spending.

Many American's would prefer somewhat smaller government, so now programs will have to be examined for their relative values to society...and some things must needs be cut or eliminated.

I will wait to see how this all shakes out before I get up in arms about a reduction in taxes.

You do recall, don't you, that the debt has been doubling every 8 years during this millennium?

How exactly will any change in taxes impact the spending habits of our legislators?

And a way for the government to keep spending us into oblivion. (or utopia, to the left)

The GOP supports increasing spending. They just increased military spending by like 80 billion. So, spare us the "We're principled economic conservative" schtick.

Once again America ****s, severely its poor.

What else is new?

First off we do not know what government revenues are going to be 10 years from now.
If you remember he cbo also said that obamacare would cost under 1 trillion over 10 years.
It is up to almost 1.4 trillion over ten years now.

So anyone claiming anything at this point is full of it.
More money in the hands of people is never a bad thing.

If you wish the government to have more of your money you can pay it now.

I was reading the other day that 49% of government spending is for Social Security, Medicare, etc... I think if the founders knew that the government that they created would turn into an entity that just transferred money from one group of people to another group (not even citizens), they would have put in safeguards to stop it from happening.

The U.S. government has become a big welfare machine, because politicians figured out they could use our money to buy votes for themselves.

Pretty sad Jet. I'm on Medicaid, I hope I don't lose my health coverage. I make <20,000. I will never own a home and I will work until I die. Pretty ****ty "American" life when we're capable of allowing people to reach their full potential, if we could get a few greedy assholes out of the way, and teach these guppy GOP voters some critical thinking skills.

That (bolded above) assertion is simply not true. Federal revenue has been below federal spending for decades which is why we have an ever growing national debt. Whether the party for a bigger federal government or the party for a huge federal government is temporarily "in charge" that will remain the case so long as it results in a re-election rate of over 90% for congress critters.
