Michael Flynn pleads guilty to lying to the FBI

Not to undermine the authority of the current outgoing president.

And if they do meet then regardless of purpose, it's also not usual to lie to the FBI about having done so. Or to congress. Or to the media. Or to anyone, really.

And? I didn't argue with that. The crux of the OP, and my post to which Wonka was responding, was about an incoming transition team meeting with foreign representatives, not about Flynn lying.

And I was talking to MrWonka, simply noting just how different the current situation is than the normal situation. You're just assuming I'm talking about or to you.

If I talk to you, Harshaw, I'll reply to your post or address you within a post shortly after one of yours.

You referenced my post. It would be nice if what you say is true, and that you did address me directly when you have something to say about me, but we both know it's not true.

First, to get this out of the way... If Trump colluded with the Russians to get elected he should be impeached and then prosecuted.

Now, maybe you can help me with this. The quote you posted from the article says that Flynn "was acting under instructions from senior Trump transition officials in his dealings with" Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. The transition team would have been after Trump had already won, not before to where he could have colluded with the Russians.

Did I read that wrong?

Unlike many on this site, I don’t call people’s opinions that I disagree with LIES. So cool it.

If you told me that I was being untruthful, then you have called me a liar. There isn't any difference, no matter how you want to try and parse it.

Your aside was not corroborated by your link, Dan. Period. Your new one does. BUT in your OP, with that link YOU provided, your assertion was untrue. You want to equate that comment to being the same as calling you a liar? Be my guest.

Personally, I wish that the GOP, Dems, media, et al, would just chill out and wait until there is real news and only report the real news.

The facts are that so-and-so pleaded guilty to a charge of lying to whomever. That is the news. Perhaps, Flynn has come out and has said that he has evidence of some wrongdoing by the President.

Then the facts would be that Flynn has stated that he has evidence of wrongdoing by the President. That is how news should be presented and not supposing what the evidence is or how that might impact the President. We won't know until real news is reported and even then, that can change.

Chill out, folks! All of this will end during this century.

P.S. And the reporting should not say "sources said."

You're right about the timing of the meeting in question. This is an investigation, remember. Mueller is uncovering facts. One leads to another until he finally knows what happened and if laws were violated. That's how it works. This meeting might not be significant, but the fact that Flynn lied about it makes makes him guilty of a felony. It also begs the questions: Why did he lie and what else is he hiding?

Flynn deserves what he gets for committing a felony. I just wish this would get to the end faster than it is going. If Trump broke the law then he should be impeached, prosecuted and convicted. If he didn't then prosecute everyone else's that did, like Flynn, and move on with the business of running our country.

We have a VP for these very reasons.

The article sounds truthful. YOUR addition to it is not.

Your own words speak for themselves. Instead of telling me that you thought I might be wrong because the thread I posted didn't support my statement, you accused me of lying. If anybody needs to cool it, it's you. You should have done what I did, and looked at several sources before running your mouth.

Here's the deal. When breaking news comes out, different media organizations sometimes report only on different aspects of it. This is what happened here. I could only post one of those aspects to start a thread, but had already read several, which I why I posted what I did, which happened to be true. There was no call for you to go off the reservation and tell me that I was lying.

What Trump was doing wasn't nefarious at all. He only directed Flynn to contact the Russians to order caviar and vodka for his next inauguration, which will take place in Moscow.

Yes, everyone on the planet should ****ing change LesGovt, to accommodate Trump's circus.
How about Trump start acting like a professional, competent adult, and everyone else would chill out as a result?
One seems more appropriate.

I don’t disagree with you necessarily. I wonder if anyone on Clinon’s Team contacted the ambassadors of other countries... I’m not saying, “She did it too.” I’m saying... would that in and of itself be unusual?
It's not just that they talked with the ambassador. It's the fact that they requested political actions from the Russians prior to even being in office that went against the current administration's wishes, then lied about all of it from top to bottom, and possibly even discussed when and how Russia and wiki leaks could release stolen hacked information (the latter part is my speculation) . This isn't just "OMG they talked" otherwise noone would be lying to the FBI about it.
