Donald Trump and his former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn

President Trump will not be paying for former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn's legal bills, a White House ethics official confirmed to CBS News. "POTUS is not paying anything to Flynn," the official told CBS News. "President (Trump) has never been approached for money from Manafort or Flynn and would not contribute under these circumstances." That statement comes as NBC reported earlier this month that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has enough evidence to charge Flynn, as Mueller probes Russian meddling in the 2016 election and any ties to the Trump campaign. Among other things, Mueller is reportedly probing whether Flynn was a part of an alleged plot to essentially kidnap a Turkish Muslim cleric living in Pennsylvania and transport him to Turkey for $15 million.

Flynn was ousted from the White House in February, after he misled Vice President Mike Pence about his contacts with Russian officials. Flynn's family established a legal defense fund for him earlier this fall, saying the legal bills are more than the family can afford. In a September statement released by Joe Flynn and Barbara Redgate, Flynn's brother and sister, the family said that the "various investigations arising out of the 2016 presidential election have placed a tremendous financial burden" on the Flynn family, and that the attorneys' fees and other related costs "far exceed their ability to pay."

Lawyers for Michael T. Flynn, President Trumps former National Security Adviser, notified the president's legal team in recent days that they could no longer discuss the special counsel's investigation, according to four people involved in the case, an indication that Mr. Flynn is cooperating with prosecutors or negotiating such a deal. Mr. Flynn's lawyers had been sharing information with Mr. Trump's lawyers about the investigation by the special counsel. That agreement has been terminated, the four people said.

No and yes. Flynn and Son incurred massive legal bills prior to the setting up of a legal defense fund. So Trump kicked him aside some time ago.

The fund will not accept donations from foreign nationals, nor will it accept money from the Trump campaign or the Trump Organization. The statement said the fund will also not accept anonymous donations, but did not specify whether it would disclose its list of donors.

Another example of how Trump is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

Seeing as how he used monies raised for his 2020 run were used for his, and others legal bills, why was Flynn set aside?

That is correct, however it is Trump who put himself there. When you lie to people as much as much as he has, people loose respect and, left with nothing in its place they have to make assumptions about accusations against him.

It's just an advanced stage of the US criminal justice system where if you committed a felony at any point in your life, you will be the suspect in future crimes.

I mean, no one can say Trump has been honest with the American people, you can't say that he has enacted anything that will begin to fix the country's problems other than a lot of hot air.

So, yeah, like every president before him he has dug his own grave; it just happens to be happening five or six years earlier than it usually does.

However, I doubt any president before him was anywhere near as dishonest and disrespectful of people.

Flynn's in a lot of trouble for lying to the FBI and on his SF-86, and for his attempts to hide his activities (including kidnapping) in Turkey from the feds.

Still, I don't know what he could offer against Trump. Unlike Manafort, I doubt he'd be aware of any unrelated business corruption, or be aware of some financial scheme by the Trumps.

If he knows any wrongdoing, I suspect it would be related to Kushner, and what he was doing to obtain financing for his family business that is in debt.

Satan's pope led Globalist cabal has been out to get Flynn since he showed he was antiMuslim ... and especially when he made known the Obama regime helped create ISIS.

As Flynn's attorneys are no longer talking to Trump legal team, its a safe assumption Flynn is talking. As I have been saying for the last 2 weeks, the silence from Muellers team speaks volumes. This nothing burger sure has turned into something. More indictments coming to a Trump team member near you

D Trump- I will only pick the best people

Bwahaha

Another lie from the man with zero integrity.

To be fair if I was Trump I'd do the same thing. Why pay for a man's legal bills if he isnt cooperating with you?

Fixed

Why would Trump pay legal bills for somebody that did something before he started working for the administration?

I don't understand how this is news?

There are a lot of people that will not receive money from Trump for legal bills.

Why would Trump pay legal bills for somebody that did something before he started working for the administration?

He was working with the Trump campaign long before the election. Trumps Foreign Policy Adviser.
