"[Norah O'Donnell] added: 'This has to end. This behavior is wrong. Period.'"

“"This is a moment that demands a frank and honest assessment about where we stand and more generally the safety of women,' O’Donnell said. 'Let me be very clear: There is no excuse for this alleged behavior. It is systematic and pervasive.'"

"Rose, [Gayle] King said,*'doesn’t*get a pass, because I can’t stop thinking about the anguish of these women … that and the pain that they’re going through.'"

I wonder if the people who know they crossed a line sometime should just begin confessing now. There will be others who are accused wrongly or who deny true allegations. For those who are just waiting to see if they get exposed, though, and then apologize, maybe a proactive approach is better.

It seems counterproductive to incriminate oneself, but we clearly have passed the watershed by now.

It's a call to the Victim Culture Confessional, public, with a beating through the streets to follow.

I still believe there are some good people in the News and entertainment (I repeat myself) industry... I think they need to start a #notme hash tag

Only for abusers, molesters, rapists, pedophiles, and other trash who don't know how to respect other people's bodies

I think there a good people everywhere. It's up to them to stand up for what is right.

Which is why the only real hero in this whole thing is the ONE women who went to the police and agreed to wear a wire on Harvey Weinstein. She got the ball rolling and most people probably still don't know her name.

WHAT?! You think she's the only "one"
who showed any courage...?

You have a seriously bad habit of horrible reading comprehension. Who said anything about courage?

I have a hard time believing that the coworkers and colleagues of not just Charlie Rose, but the est of the accused of late, didn't have a clue about what was going on.

"The only real hero"

Hero : a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.

In this case, you are referring to her role in outing Weinstein, which required courage.

Perhaps you should consider that you have a seriously bad habit of horrible writing comprehension.

So... it is your belief that only heroes have courage? Or are you arguing that I think only heroes have courage?

Why don't you explain to me what about her behavior makes her a "real hero", and trivializes the contributions of every other accuser since.

She is the one who wore a wire into Harvey Weinstein's home and provided the evidence necessary to push the first domino over. She did that likely aware that in doing so she could kiss her Hollywood career goodbye, but she would end he viscous cycle in its tracks. That is why she is the hero.

I agree that she is a hero, i just don't think it's fair to say that she's the only one.

She is. for Weinstein. The others are followers. If it didn't work out well for her, they probably wouldn't have opened their mouths.

Maybe they did know, but it's really not up to them to come forward with such allegations. It's up to the victim to whom the "crime" or misconduct was perpetrated against. Friends, family and co-workers can encourage the victim to come forward and if they were a witness they could give their account as to what transpired, but it's really up to the victim to step forward, report the wrong doing and make their case.

Put this way: I could witness a robbery, but unless the victim comes forward and reports the break-in or the theif, a crime was truly never committed in the eyes of the law.

A lot of them did know what was happening. They have been substantiating the alleged victims' claims the entire time.

"She said she told Yvette Vega, Rose's longtime executive producer, about the calls.

"'I explained how he inappropriately spoke to me during those times,' Godfrey-Ryan said. 'She would just shrug and just say, -That's just Charlie being Charlie.-'"

I can't speak for Absentglare, but my question is how do the "followers" lack courage?

Better yet, what is your standard for courage when an alleged victim of sexual assault goes public with her or his claims? Not just to the police but national/global media.

That's no excuse for the shocked ignorance being displayed.

If you have knowledge of a crime and don't say anything, you can be charged with obstruction or even as an accessory.

The others were also heroic, simply not to such a grand extent.

They didn't lack courage, they just didn't have enough to speak out until someone else did first.

It would be so much easier if women just carried mace or tasers. Touch me inappropriately, bad stuff happens. Works for training a dog, should work fine for men.

Or even were willing to open their mouth and talk honestly to a man.

That would really help, but I am asking for too much I get told.

Not at all. When he comes out of the bathroom naked, she should first tell him that this is not cool and if he doesn't immediately retreat into the bathroom, then taze him.

Any woman who needs a Tazer to accomplish what her mouth should be able to get done should slink away in shame....
