The 2 Nurses lost their licenses only after the State Board became aware of the video.
Staff lied there asses off.

Warning- Not a good video to watch.
Clearly this home should be taken over by the State.

y the late winter of 2014, James Dempsey had served in a world war, raised children, buried a wife and seen the best of his health behind him. As he prepared for a stay at a nursing home on the outskirts of Atlanta, the 89-year-old began to feel nervous.

So his family hid a camera in his room at Northeast Atlanta Health and Rehabilitation, Dempsey’s son later told WSB-TV. His father knew about it, he said, but the nurses didn’t.

James Dempsey died in that room Feb. 27, 2014, in front of the secret camera. What his family saw on the video made them sue the facility.

Portions of the hidden video were aired this week by another news station, NBC 11 Alive. The clips appear to show Dempsey gasping for air, begging for help and collapsing that morning while nurses barely attempt to revive him and at one point laugh over his bed.

America does not give two phucks about vets and we all know it, that's why we put on a charade before football games and wring our hands over players taking a knee during the anthem.

I can't watch the video. Just thinking about it is making me tear up. What the **** is wrong with people? The nurses should be charged with involuntary manslaughter, IMO.

Tell ya the truth, we both, Canada/US have an aging population and these incident of lack of care will only increase.
Watched part of it, her testimony, but the only way this came to light was the media sued for the tape.
And the family sued, needless to say signed a non disclosure agreement.

Pls read post 5 - not enough funding and this crap will only get worse.

"An honest mistake..." Really...SMH...

Or may be we need to hire people who actually give a **** instead of just showing up for work.

We take in plenty of funding, vets simply don't make the priority list in america. These people mean nothing to us, they are merely commodities sacrificed upon the altar of the Wall Street/donor/"job creator" class' need to control the resources and wealth of other nations.

Never been to a nursing home, have ya? They ain't all vets, and they ain't being treated much better.

In america most especially, your end of life care options will be opioids or a pistol.

I amended the thread with a link to the 1st thread.
I would read Glens post, number 2.
Not only do people use black humor in order to deal with the dying, it is a low paid high burnout job.
Every day you go into work and needless to say some one has died or is near death.
I have the utmost respect for those that perform the job well. These Nurses, should be in jail.

Lastly- they can move to another State and get hired as a number of State Licensing Boards do not perform a background check

That would entail tax increases, and that will not happen.

Just watched two parents die in one this year; March and September, after being incarcerated there for around 3 years, point? Yes, it is a societal disease. Those no longer seen as revenue generating are disposable. Think about that as the jobs one can live on in america continue to disappear. That's why corporate for profit prisons are a growth industry.

Yes.. And you don't speak for America in regards to caring about vets. Vets are just a MacGuffin you used to insult Americans.

Our society does what it does my friend. If you're ok with it, that's on you, cheer onward.

Incarcerated? By whom?
