New accuser steps forward in Roy Moore case

We need to make it illegal to "settle out of court". If a poor person rapes a women and goes to jail, so should a rich guy. This would also remove any fiscal incentive for gold-diggers to fabricate any such false allegations.

We need to quit pretending that our justice system is blind. It see's money just fine. Time to root that out.

I would love to see that retroactive to the '70s.

Watch out Clinton, they are coming for you.

Who the hell knows what proceedings will be in store?

However:

Different states have different statute limitations. In Alabama, sexual misconduct with someone under 16, there "are no statute of limitations".

https://victimsofcrime.org/docs/DNA...sault-check-chart---final---copy.pdf?sfvrsn=2

I don't have a clue about what evidence would be considered as enough to prosecute in this matter, but if it exists, then Due Process will be employed. If the allegations by Nelson wind up being tried in a court of law - and Ms Nelson was "under 16" - and her allegations are found to be true, "beyond a reasonable doubt" in a court of law, then Moore will be convicted.

Too many unknowns at this point to know where these allegations will lead (true or false).

So in this case if the state can proceed with a case would come done to what date this supposedly happened.

The OP said she was 15 or 16. I guess even she doesn't remember how old she was.

Sure about that?

The OP Wapo article claimed 3 years statute of limitations, including on the 14yo.

Perhaps something changed since 1979?

It appears the girl was 16 at the time, so the statute of limitations would apply.

I'm noting How The Worm Has Turned - you Lefties were tarring Juanita Broaddrick for accusing beloved Bill Clinton of rape - but now you're suddenly so into compassion for accusers. What convenient double standards you have.

Kind of like the people here attacking these women for accusing Moore. Some were getting all excited to learn one of the women actually did deaf interpretation for Clinton, OH MY.

Yes, it appears everyone has double standards.

Where have the women themselves been directly attacked? I see the left-leaning media being attacked - it's not as if they're about partisanship - and I see questions being raised on the general propriety of events from 40 years ago suddenly being raised during a currently bitterly contested election.

I actually had a couple of people tell me in another thread that they were getting tired of all this "#MeToo" business. So they were not getting mad at the fact that 500,000 people were sexually assaulted. They were mad that people were talking about it, and coming forward. Another couple said that they wondered how many of those 500,000 were faking (paraphrasing).
It never ceases to amaze me how selfish some people can be. Even when people are talking about how they were sexually assaulted, all some people can think about is how it affects them (and, on this forum, their political party).

It's absurd.

I agree.

I’m not a lefty. I’m not a partisan. Clinton is scum. I have a long history of being opposed to the Clintons. Once again you don’t know your hole from an ass in the ground.

Wrong is wrong no matter political or religious beliefs.

At least Bill saved his transgressions for grown women. Not suggesting what he did was OK. But he didn't chase 14 year olds.

Something happened in my home yesterday that I thought you people would find interesting.
I was working in the livingroom, as I do allot, and my wife was sitting here watching CNN.
I heard her start carrying on about some person she thought was being silly on TV, so I looked up and saw this elderly woman in tears.
I listened in and she was crying about how Moore had sexually assaulted her 30 years ago.
Now...try to understand, my wife is from a small village just south of Prague.
Anyway...thus is her comment...in general.

"She is to be reading from a paper! Look at that person who is sitting beside. She is to be helping this woman read a script. How can I to believe this dummy stuff? And why is it bad that mans do come-on to womans? Czech girls do to think if a man does not, there must to be something wrong with him."

I laughed my ass off.
And thought some of you might enjoy the reflection on how other cultures might view some of this.

The OP said she was 15 or 16. I guess even she doesn't remember how old she was.

That’s what I originally read from media sources. But in an interview I saw yesterday evening Nelson claimed that “she first met Moore at 15”, but the alleged misconduct occurred at 16. According to Alabama’s statute of limitations laws, if an offense occurred “prior” to the age of 16, there is no limitation on prosecution.

So it’s entirely possible that if her account is Moore imposed some type of misconduct, and she was 16, then that falls outside the statute of limitations.

So  It’s anybody’s guess as to what, if anything, will happen other than the Court of Public Opinion will take its course. It appears that a fairly large number of Republicans have withdrawn their support based on information coming from sources other than the women themselves.

Anyone else notice how there are some people running around all the Moore threads lamenting that these accusations are somehow unfairly destroying the accused lives? Anyone notice how those same people do not seem the least bit concerned with the accusers' lives being destroyed as a result of being publicly dismissed as charlatans, nevermind any psychological trauma from the assaults?

You're defending a rapist? :lamo

I dunno - still looked like the act of a dirty old man to me. What was the age difference between Bill and Monica, as compared to the age difference between Moore and his accuser? The ferocity of his fellow Leftists in defending him was pretty telling.

You're actually comparing a college graduate ML at age 22 to a 14 year old girl?

And you wonder why no one takes you seriously

Is Bill Clinton guilty?

Are you asking if Bill Clinton is assumed to be guilty by “some” or a majority of the public - or if he’s been found guilty of rape based on evidence that’s derived from Due Process?

He's asking you to please stop talking about Roy Moore.

Hate to rain on your parade but consider this if you can:

'On Monday, CNN published photos of the signature showing two different inks. Strangely, “To a sweeter
more beautiful girl I could not say, ‘Merry Christmas.’ Love, Roy,” is written in black ink, while
“Moore DA, 12-22-77, Olde Hickory House,” is in blue ink.'

BTW what kind of nut totes around the yearbook for your freshman year after you've become a sophomore lookiing for autographs?
Sounds like this bimbo wrote it herself. Or better yet that old hag Allred wrote it

Is Bill Clinton guilty?

Are you too slow to comprehend Bill is not the topic?

The topic is Ray Moore stalking a 14 year old girl. Well that and the humor of watching you try to defend him with diversion.

The Trump supporters knows no bounds. PASS the tin hat?

Dismissed out of hand.
I don't know that it makes sense to completely dismiss a case simply because you don't like the attorney presenting it.

Do I need credibility in the eyes of a lib? I think not. ;)
But do you have credibility in the eyes of reality?

Actually not sure that works, I mean who defines reality but the one in it...

I think I know how this is going to play out. If Moore wins, there are enough Senate Republicans against him to obtain the two thirds majority needed to immediately kick him out of the Senate. Then the Governor of Alabama gets to name his successor. Problem solved. The seat remains in GOP hands, and a scumbag's political career is officially over. Two birds killed with one stone. McConnell has already stated that Moore will be subpoenaed, and forced to testify under oath the minute he takes office. This is the first step towards removal of Moore from the Senate.
