Trump Says Putin ‘Means It’ About Not Meddling in U.S. Elections

DANANG, Vietnam —
...
“He said he didn’t meddle — I asked him again,” Mr. Trump told reporters traveling with him aboard Air Force One as he flew to Hanoi for more meetings. “You can only ask so many times. I just asked him again. He said he absolutely did not meddle in our election. He did not do what they are saying he did.”
...
Mr. Trump heaped disdain on the former leaders of three American intelligence agencies — John O. Brennan, the former C.I.A. director; James R. Clapper Jr., the former director of national intelligence; and James B. Comey, the F.B.I. director he fired this year — appearing to suggest that they were less trustworthy than Mr. Putin.
So, Putin is telling the truth, because he has no ulterior motive for lying? But U.S. intelligence officers can't be trusted. All that I can think of is this:

Always a sad sight seeing those 2 thugs standing side by side grinning

Everything he says and does (or does not say and does not do), will be used against him in his coming indictment to the house on conspiracy and obstruction of justice....

Donald Trump is owned by the Russians (which we will learn once Mueller is done). It's clear his allegiance is more to Russians than to Americans.

He [Trump] said he believed Mr Putin had been "very insulted by" the allegations and that was "not a good thing" for America. BBC

Why should Trump care if Putin is insulted? Trump never seemed to care about Americans (or allies) who Trump personally insulted -- but Putin, he's off-limits.

Why isn't it good for America? U.S. Intelligence concluded that Putin's government interfered. It may not be good for Trump, who isn't a proxy for America.

I'm slowly coming around to the idea that Trump has an illicit deal between himself and Russia that we don't know about. Nobody acts this ****ing stupid for this long, unless there is something in it for them to do so. No way Trump is licking Putins boots and getting nothing out of it at all.

Right. Because he needs the money.

Trump's allegiance is to MONEY and for the last decade the Russians have been the only ones who will lend it to him. We will learn about that too. That is what most of his cabinet has in common also. They are all in it for the money.

In more blunt language, Trump believes KGB Lt. Col. Vladimir Putin to be more trustworthy than the ~120,000 American officers/agents/analysts of the FBI, CIA, and NSA.

Take a few moments and think about that.

Where are the charges? This is all a puzzle within a maze inside a conundrum. None of it makes sense.

That's exactly what Trump wants. To confuse you. Mueller will clear things up so be patient.

trump says he is innocent.....It is all made up.....So he has nothing to worry about ...Right?....He is guilty as hell

The puzzle ends with trump being in a political columbarium ...

I never said that, I mean it! It never happened! Really guys! No collusion! Nothing! Nothing happened! I mean it!

You left out "Believe me". When he says that you know he is lying.

So now this is Trump's word versus the entirety of the law enforcement and intelligence community.

I don't think I've ever seen a man act guiltier.

Even most guilty, don't act as guilty as him! :doh

CIA director stands by intel community assessment Russia meddled in election

By Daniella Diaz
November 11, 2017

CIA Director Mike Pompeo stands by US intelligence assessments that Russia meddled in the 2016 election, the agency said Saturday, despite President Donald Trump saying he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin when he says his country didn't interfere. "The Director stands by and has always stood by the January 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment entitled: Assessing Russian Activities and Intentions in Recent U.S. Elections," the CIA said in a statement when asked for reaction to the president's remarks. "The intelligence assessment with regard to Russian election meddling has not changed." The agency said it would have no further comment.

I'm a bit surprised that the CIA issued any statement. CIA Director Mike Pompeo (US Representative (R) from 2010-2016) is a Trump political appointee.

President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin did not discuss alleged election meddling on Saturday, despite Trump saying they did, according to Putin’s office.

“No,” Putin's press secretary Dmitri Peskov told CNN when asked, “as far as you know, did the two leaders discuss meddling?"
