The saga of sexual assault, underage sex and illegal advances continues, this time starring Senate candidate Roy Moore.

Leigh Corfman says she was 14 years old when an older man approached her outside a courtroom in Etowah County, Ala. She was sitting on a wooden bench with her mother, they both recall, when the man introduced himself as Roy Moore.

Alone with Corfman, Moore chatted with her and asked for her phone number, she says. Days later, she says, he picked her up around the corner from her house in Gadsden, drove her about 30 minutes to his home in the woods, told her how pretty she was and kissed her. On a second visit, she says, he took off her shirt and pants and removed his clothes. He touched her over her bra and underpants, she says, and guided her hand to touch him over his underwear.

“I wanted it over with — I wanted out,” she remembers thinking. “Please just get this over with. Whatever this is, just get it over.” Corfman says she asked Moore to take her home, and he did.

This account is based on interviews with more than 30 people who said they knew Moore between 1977 and 1982, when he served as an assistant district attorney for Etowah County in northern Alabama, where he grew up.

Beat you by ONE MINUTE!!

I know sexual predators are something of a statistical aberration (or are they?), but the degree to which they find themselves in positions of power is disturbing.

I think you have to be a bit of a sociopath to be a sexual predator. Sociopathy, as bad as it is, can also help one make it to the top rings of power. As Louis CK once said, "there is no limit to what you can accomplish when you don't give a **** about your fellow man."

I knew stuff like this was coming. The Bush thing was NOT a one time accusation. There are others, from both sides.

The one positive result from the Hollywood scandals is that women are feeling more confident about coming forward to accuse their attackers. That so many of them have come out to speak publicly is important, especially in a state where Moore is so popular. If any of the women coming forward still live in Alabama and their names are revealed, the coming weeks probably won't be easy for them.

These allegations are 38 years old. Why now, and is there proof? No proof = hit job.

This is the attitude that rapists rely on. This is why most of them get away with it.

No statute of limitations for statutory rape.

Just how much as happened since then. I am sure a whole lot more women will be stepping forward.

You're right. The next thing they'll be inventing is a decades-old story in which the former Speaker of the House, a former coach supposedly emblematic of middle American values, actually had a history of molesting teenage boys and paying blackmail to keep it quite. Oh, wait...

It's a hit job! Moore had so many from both parties as enemies through the years that if there was even a hint of truth
to these allegations they certainly would have come up time & time again during the previous 38 years.

Sounds like what the NY Times tried to do to Trump. 'In May 2016, The New York Times published the article "Crossing the Line:
How Donald Trump Behaved with Women in Private".' Women interviewed for the story, a few of whom had worked for
Trump, stated they had not received unwanted advances and "they had never known Mr. Trump to objectify women or treat them with disrespect."

Same stuff, different person being vilified by dubious characters for political reasons. There is a swamp out there and it's not just confined to
Washington DC.

There was documented proof that money changed hands there, quit pretending these allegations are proven because WaPo sent some strange looking
woman to pound the pavement for a month seeking dirt on Moore. All political nonsense like the Russian dossier, made up.

Time will tell. Washington Post should be up a Public Service award!

Disturbing but typical?

Roy Moore will fit right in up in Washington DC

Apparently there was proof in those cases. Where's the proof?

Simple.. there days it's a lot easier to come forward that it was back then. that's why it's happening with Weinstien, and why it's happening with Charlie Sheen. You either hold to the same standards as you are holding them, or not. Your choice.

Is there proof against them? Is proof against Moore? All I am asking, where is the proof? No proof no case.

It seems to me you didn't get all wound up and upset at the sheen and weinstien accusations. Double standard much??

A woman says GOP Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore sexually assaulted her when she was 14.

Leigh Corfman, now 53, told The Washington Post in an article published Thursday that Moore, then a 32-year-old assistant district attorney, took off her shirt and removed his clothes in the 1979 incident. He touched her over her bra and led her hands to touch him over his underwear, she said.

“I wanted it over with — I wanted out,” Corfman told the paper. “Please just get this over with. Whatever this is, just get it over.”

Three other women said Moore also made sexual advances to them when they were teenagers around the same time, according to the newspaper. Wendy Miller said she was working as a Santa’s helper at a mall when she was 14 when Moore first approached her. By the time she was 16, she said Moore was asking her out on dates.

The age of consent was and continues to be 16 in Alabama.

I believe every word. If there's 4 there's more. He's obviously a sick, ignorant bastard. Let's see if the people of Alabama still elect him. We elected Trump after he admitted grabbing women, so it's not out of the realm of possibility.

I don't care either way, all I am asking is where is the proof. For all of them. I see lots of accusations but no proof. Like the Wendy's lady said, where's the beef? I find it odd that all these people are coming out the woodwork yet there seems to be very little in the way of proof. If I was being accused I would be saying prove it. That's just me though.
