The man who allegedly attacked Sen. Rand Paul is out on $7,500 bail and -- so far -- faces only a misdemeanor charge, as questions surround the attacker's motive as well as the extent of the senator's injuries.




According to the jailer at Warren County Regional Jail, 59-year-old Rene Boucher was released on $7,500 bail Saturday.
“He faces Assault in the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] degree, minor injury,” Jailer Stephen Harmon told Fox News on Monday, pointing further inquiries to the Kentucky State Police. “Other charges may be pending.”

Broken ribs are hell. He can expect about 10 to 12 weeks of constant pain from them. You can't get comfortable with them no matter what you do.

The attacker is not in custody. I'm surprised no media types have shown up at his door yet.

Way back in the late 70, a one year baby kicked me while holding it and cracked a rib and I was surprised how much pain it would cause. Now in those days I ran marathons and was basically skin and bones so nothing protected my ribs except skin. But it was not fun - with just one cracked rib. Paul must be going through hell.

I wonder if this whole thing does not involve something more important than just land or a property dispute? Maybe its much much more personal.

I don't understand why the police needed to be involved at all. This is government overreach, they should have just let the clearly visible fists of the free market sort things out.

Most municipalities have regs that are from late evening till dawn. Unless he was mowing at night.....

It all depends on what time of day Rand was mowing. If it were a 2 AM mowing... I'd consider tackling him. :lol:
 
I'm surprised at how mildly this attack has been addressed by the police. Would Paul have been given some choice in how his attacker would be charged?
 
This was probably all a ruse to get a RX for Oxycontin so they can split the bottle.

Yeah... I think Phoenix was 8:00am to 8:00pm which was always broken by leaf blowers at 6:00am trying to avoid the heat during summer.
