Twitter Employee on Last Day of Job Deactivated Trump’s Account, Company Says

When you deprive someone of a means of communication-that's censorship.

Yeah, because Twitter is the only form of communication to the most powerful man in the world. Nobody has a right to use Twitter. I can't just go on Fox news and say what I want, is that censorship?

What if that had been done to Obama? The Left would be shrieking about a racist conspiracy.

But apparently, the Left feel it's perfectly fine to tamper with the freedom of expression of the President of the United States, when it's someone they don't like or didn't vote for. Apparently, the Left continue to convince themselves that they have a veto or a gag over everyone and everything they don't agree with.

And his account was back up in eleven minutes. But Trump is openly trying to use the Justice Department and the FBI to investigate his political rivals, which is tinpot dictator 101. And you're cool with that.

Priorities!

Believe whatever you want to believe. It will have no effect on reality.

Trump was not denied a means of communication. One of his many means of communication was down for 11 minutes. That is not censorship. Jeez.

Every single person on the left who refuses to repudiate Antifa.
So silence is complicity with Antifa, how about with racists marching in the streets and intimidating people? I'm sure some of those Antifa folks are "good people". Just ignore them and they will go away ;)

LOL at the folks trying to use one person to generalize the entire Left, again, and again, and again, and again.... Guess what:

Wouldn't it be nice if threads started to generalize one side OR the other by the actions of one person were simply auto-flushed? That one initiative alone would both chase away the trolls, and bring some civility here. Ah well, guess it's good for giggles...

He was not the hero we wanted, he was the hero we needed...

And some people are blowing this way out of proportion. No one was significantly harmed, appropriate action has been taken, time to move on.

Usually, at least in this country, someone that fights for freedom of speech is a hero. Those that fight to silence others, even those in opposition, fight on the side of oppression.

If you think it is okay because the victim is someone you dislike, congratulations, you are on the road to tyranny.

I think the security concerns are more important than this liberal vs. conservative non-sense. The POTUS should not be using Twitter for administrative announcements.

Yes, the actions of one rogue employee are indicative of the entire left. These desperate attempts of right-wing nuts to paint all liberals with same brush are idiotic, sad and boring.

First of all, Redress was making a joke.

Second of all, use of Twitter, categorically does not equal free speech.

It's a private companies platform from which to send messages.

Absolutely no one, no one is entitled to it's use at any time.

Oh, I think you can figure out the point though, can't you?

That's one way to leave a job.

He'll be in some good company, others with similar beliefs in silencing the opposition have held that title too.

That's a wonderful word meant to evoke images of victimhood.

God you poor things you.

Well clearly you can't

Tell me, since I thought that only liberals had an entitlement mentality.

Is anyone actually entitled to use Twitters platform?

Meh, I thought it was mildly funny and I would feel that way regardless of who was President. All the guy did was basically "flip off a switch" that was easily flipped back on. No harm was done. It was just a silly last-day-of-work-stick-it-to-the-man benign action.

The Bill Clinton staff removing the "W"s from the keyboards before leaving was more harmful, though I found that funny as well. :)

Twitter is irrelevant to freedom of speech. They are a private company.

I never claimed it was ok. Do learn to read.

Good bet the perp was a leftie. Don't take a rocket scientist to deduce that. The left used to be all concerned with freedom of speech. Now not so much. Now they like to shout down, pull down, shut down, or even burn down what they don't like.

What if that had been done to Obama? The Left would be shrieking about a racist conspiracy.

Because one person deactivated his twitter account in the middle of the night for 11 minutes?

Good lord. How do you get through life when stupid **** like this gets you all huffy and looking for people to blame?

That's a wonderful word meant to evoke images of victimhood.

Haha, no one touched my Twitter account. Wouldn't Trump be the victim of that action in this? Your "victimhood" comment doesn't really make any sense.

So a disgruntled Twitter employee shut down President Trump's account, and Twitter reactivated 11 minutes later, and this is now about Obama.

There's a rule taught in high school debate. Never overstate your case. Probably you missed school that day.
