Pizza Hut 'not seeing any impact' from NFL protests on pizza sales

If it's any help to Papa J's flagging sales, I consider their pizza to better than the cardboard covered with salty grease that pizza hut severs up. At least I'll eat PJ's if it's offered free. Pizza Hut is down there with Little Ceasars. I have no need to resort to that stuff when I'm doing the purchasing.

I disagree: PJ totally sucks. Pizza Hut is better.

PoS's Chain Pizza ratings:

Pizza Hut 5/10
Domino's 4.5/10
Little Ceaser's 3/10
Poppa John's 2.5/10

despite these places being disgusting.

Pizza hut is more eat in than delivery, papa johns is 100% delivery. People watch nfl not inside pizza huts.

If that's the problem then Papa John's should stop whining and start adapting.

They all absolutely suck, are not real pizza and I wouldn't eat it if you paid me.

but that does lend credence to it's claim, does it not?

I thought that capitalism was all about businesses taking responsibility for their decisions. Maybe you feel that doesn't apply to Papa John's?

john schnatter is just a whiney bitch and his pizza sucks, if one could call it pizza ........

I may need to rethink my, "if it's free" comment, lol.
Deadspin's David Roth had some inspired descriptions of Papa John's pizza, saying it tastes like "unusually salty upholstery" and "the way long-distance bus travel feels."

National pizza chain polls have found Papa John's consistently bested by Little Caesars, Pizza Hut, Domino's, Jet's and that guy who sells pizzas out of his trunk over on Sixth Street.
Papa John's sales are down because of bad pizza, not the NFL

It's been about 3 years since I sampled any of these. We usually buy from a local place, or in some situations we go for this chain:

Not bad for something you can take home & heat to eat when folks get there...

I'm not in Seattle, that review's just what came up.

LOL

There's a ton of articles on this on Google, apparently PJs is getting harmed by 'his people.' He's a big objector to Obamacare and had threatened that it would lead to him laying off employees, reduce benefits, etc.

Yeah, back when he talked about raising pizza costs, the math worked out to be like 12 cents a pizza. My reaction was: "You mean to tell me this mother****er could have given all his full time employees health insurance for 12 lousy cents a pizza, this whole time!? Here's a quarter. Get the deluxe plan, you greedy ****."

The dough is wrong, you can see by the yelp pics.

We do the thin crust, which I would rate about 3 out of 5. It is what it is.

There's a local non-chain place we use normally that is quite good, but you need to prepare to wait a little (or a lot) longer.

I know what they make at PJ, the man pays his staff peanuts, and most are part time anyway. That way the employees receive no benefits. Except for management, most emoyees are already recieving zero benefits.

So you need full time people at a pizza delivery joint?

Maybe they've gotten better. I haven't touched it in years. It used to be that the PH veggie was the only thing that was even edible. PJ's is the only one I've had in maybe 10 years? I'm not even sure. Last time I had PJ's they brought it in for a working lunch. That was 3-4 years ago.

Yech. That whiny biotch from Louisville is worth over 100 million. Make a better product John, you idiot...

Pizza Hut is nasty. I don't even know how they call that pizza.

I've never actually had Papa John's before, so I can't say if it's good or not. But my guess that it ain't that good, from what I've heard.

Maybe instead of whining about peaceful Pledge protests, Papa John's should focus on actually making a decent product. You know, like a business is supposed to try to do.

I had wanted to try PJ's up until the moment the owner whined about having to raise the prices of his pizzas a whopping 25 cents in order to pay for health care for his employees because Obamacare. That twenty-five cents per pizza was worth more to the owner than providing health care for his employees. From that day, I've never once even considered buying one of his pizzas, and I never will.

Too many good local pizzerias to buy that crap. I live in a town of about 25,000 people and we've got two outstanding pizza places that are locally owned and make vastly better pizza than any chain store does.

This^^^

Mom and pop places have to care, they ain't worth 100 mil like whining Johnny.

Don't bother.

When I was in college I ate Little Caesars sometimes because they were 2 for one. Not good, but I was broke. I tried an even cheaper place called Jerry's Subs and Pizza. I left the $5 pizza on the table and never came back.
