He's doing what he said he would do.
Really? Well...
1) He said he would build a wall. Now he relies on Mexico to get him off the hook because they won't pay for it. Of course, with conservatives applauding tax cuts across the board, I guess prayers are going to build the wall.
2) He promised to appoint a special prosecutor towards Hillary Clinton. Then he declared that he wasn't really interested in that after he was elected. But now, with all the Russia heat, it appears that he is interested in tapping back into that well.
3) He declared NATO obsolete, implying that we were through. Months after being elected he decided that NATO was no longer obsolete.
4) He promised to repeal Obamacare, which was entirely based on years of GOP rhetoric. When it came down to it, neither he nor the GOP had a plan and tried to pull the same sort of rush-job crappery that Democrats did.
5) He promised to drain the swamp. He filled the swamp immediately.
6) He promised to spend less time on the golf course, after using this to denigrate Obama's lack of duty to the American people. After elected, he went on to outpace Obama on the golf course.
So...a special prosecutor, Obamacare, the wall, the swamp... These were pretty much the biggies, weren't they?
He has flipped on everything he promised to do. He has the worst 100 days on record and this is largely because he entered the White House floating on a cloud of rhetoric instead of a practical agenda. And now he is scrambling all over the place, through Twitter, over this Russia issue, while conservatives betray their own ideologies of anti-communism. There was a time when one could rely on the conservatives to be the practical ones. What happened? The American identity crisis is obvious to me.
You don't need to be a part of this crap. It is perfectly fine to be "very conservative" and recognize that Trump falls very short and is entirely undeserving.
