First charges filed in Mueller investigation

Cheers !! This old stoner gets right occasionally. A guess as to whom is going down Mon? Flynn or Manafort? Once the in indictment is in, the plea deal and squealing will begin, ala Dean and Watergate. Once these softies realize prison is possible, they will spill there guts for immunity.

In journalistic parlance this is what's called a "spec" piece. It is more speculation than information, in fact all that is new is that someone saw a flurry of activity at the courthouse on a Friday.

And this is where Trump has them on the ropes. You see if this does turn into less than what's speculated here, he now has legitimate grounds for complaint about bias.

The piece is not something I would have blue penciled; it would have been tamed down a great deal. But then, maybe that's why I'm not a journalist anymore; because journalism is dead and sensationalism leads the parade.

In the end though, a piece reading "speculation of charges follows flurry of legal action" is as good as what they presented here in terms of information, but it doesn't feed the spectrum of the population that WANTS there to be charges against Trump.

In the end, he does have a case with the MSM

Could be anything, the charges are sealed until Monday so we won’t know until then. And while we wait we have to wonder how the current administration react to thieve developments.

If it ends up being Manafort's pool cleaner, then so be it. Frankly, I wasn't expecting anything to happen until around mid-2018 anyway.

I'm still a stoner, only now they call it "medicine" and it's tax deductable.

I am not sure where any of this is going. I came of age in journalism during the Watergate investigation and hearings and no one, no one had any kind of sense of where it was going until late in the game, al a Dean and the 18 1/2 minute gap in the tape.

And I don't know where this is going. I know Trump is scared. It shows. That's one thing about a reactive like him, he can't hide his feelings very well.

I know that Trump was in a big hurry to fire a whole lot of people until a few weeks ago and not all of them for screwing up.

But is it Watergate Redux? No, I don't think so. I think amid other things they will find some scorching improprieties but not broken laws, and I think we are going to find out just how much of a pig-asshole Trump really is. I do not think it will cost him his job before an election. The result may e he is un-electable, but I don't see him going down.

Well, Mueller has been on the deal for 6+ months now and his team has been remarkably quiet. Investigations of this scope often find themselves going in all kinds of directions and If I'm not mistaken Rothstein gave Mueller a lot of leeway. It's quite possible today's charges can be quit a surprise.

IMHO, if the Saturday Night Massacre hadn't already been so thoroughly imprinted into our historical consciousness, thus putting everybody on their guard, Trump would have gotten Mueller fired a looooooong time ago.
