I have not been a fan of Trump, and considered myself a "never Trump or Hillary" refusenik during the election. And I recognize that Trump enjoyed exploiting a rising populist rage at the conventional political and cultural minders that seemed to ignore their economic fears and cultural frustrations. That said, no one in the Bush family is in a moral position to judge "our politics".
The Bush family has been an archtype of the cavalier and clueless mindset of the GOP establishment. The were never actual conservatives, they have been mainstreet business Republicans. Bush Sr. mouthed 'read my lips, no new taxes' and turned it into "you know I am lying cause my lips are moving". His son ran for the Presidency as if it were a frat boy lark, promising all sorts of new and expensive goodies (e.g. Medicare drug entitlements) while ignoring balanced budgets and dodging controversial judicial appointments (and, by the way, nominating his "girl" Meirs to a SCOTUS spot). His brother ran for President like he was seeking to be a student body President, waving his work resume as if anyone gave a hoot.
None of them gave a parsley sprig over the American borders, illegal immigration, a looming debt crisis, or serious reform of the way government does its business. George Jr., in fact, attempted to force massively increased immigration of unskilled Mexicans and did his best to create fake border enforcement. His brother Jeb, as we know, is a very big Mexican immigration enthusiast.
They didn't give a hoot about the American worker, stagnant wages, or the historic cultural identity of English speaking native borne. To them, we were "racist" to fight against their virtue postering love of foreigners.
So it was Bush and his ilk that created Trump, and now he is whining.
America is through with the Bush family, will someone direct them to the southern border and give them the boot? Please?
