University president: Richard Spencer hoping for violence to build movement

I have to wonder how the President of the University knows that Spencer is only giving this talk so he can incite violence.

Has he had a conversation with the man about this or is this an assumption on his part?

My thoughts exactly.

Considering U Florida let Spencer pick the press and attendees that would be allowed in, I don't see why they bothered to host him if the open intellectual discourse doesnt go both ways.

If Spencer is looking for a "safe space" himself, he can buy his own.

Come now. Let's not start saying the President is unfair to the poor Nazi when they are giving him a venue and the ability to let in or deny access to anyone they want--which they are doing to isolate to people who may agree with them. That sort of control, given to a Leftist, would rightly receive criticism from the Right.

If anything, this President is unnecessarily giving Richard here a "safe space." If we are going to insist on freedom of speech and free intellectual discourse, we got to insist on freedom of speech and free intellectual discourse. No coddling.

What did any of that have to do with my question?

Let's not play dumb. It was obviously a really lame attempt to play defense for a professional provocatuer who is also a Nazi.

Believe whatever you want to believe.

How about a different source?
FBI identifies man arrested over seizure-inducing tweet to Dallas journalist Kurt Eichenwald Dallas Morning News

...
The agency announced that John Rayne Rivello, 29, of Salisbury, Md., was arrested Friday morning in Maryland on a cyberstalking charge.
...
According to a criminal complaint, messages sent from Rivello's Twitter account mentioned Eichenwald, saying "I know he has epilepsy," "I hope this sends him into a seizure" and "let's see if he dies."

Authorities also found an screenshot of Eichenwald's Wikipedia page on Rivello's iCloud account, the criminal complaint said, altered to list his date of death as Dec. 16, 2016. Other files on the iCloud account include a list of things that trigger epileptic seizures and a screenshot of a Dallas Observer article about Eichenwald's attempts to find the person who tweeted at him.
...

More interestingly Richard Spencer’s Murder Attempt On Kurt Eichenwald altright.com
A journalist on Twitter is trying to blame the entire Alt-Right for attempted murder by meme
sarcastic headline. They seem to make a big deal about saying Eichenwald is jewish, while Eichenwald says he's not.

Who gives a ****? (answer: the alt-Right gang)

The question was about the president of the University having actual knowledge of what Spencer wants, or was it assumed.

How is that a defense of Spencer?

The question was solely about the President.

Well, I suppose we aren't playing, after all.

This Nazi creep got his white ass booed.....Great to see.....Now Maybe he can go hang out with trump at the Tower

Is there ever any violence at these events before the Left shows up?

Before that, they all agree, so they're probably not going to be violent with each other.
