CNN reporter mocks McConnell for needing help with stairs, not realizing he survived polio[W:109]

Re: CNN reporter mocks Mitch McConnell for needing help with stairs, not realizing he survived polio

But...but...Obama.

I think you guys on the right secretly love Obama because it gives you cover to be your nasty selves.

Why? Was Obama nasty? Or are you lost?

Re: CNN reporter mocks Mitch McConnell for needing help with stairs, not realizing he survived polio

It's more a matter of who has standing to start a thread like this. Apart from a few, Trump supporters almost uniformly defended Trump when he mocked the disabled reporter, at least on this forum. They've got no standing to complain.

So, because Trump did something bad, every liberal is free to do the same. Brilliant. Not sure why you guys revel in demonstrating that you are no better than Trump is.

Well, after hearing for 8 years how he was a tyrant socialist dictator anti-christ bent on destroying America, crowning himself king and enslaving christians, yeah, it seems a lot of people did think he was nasty.

Re: CNN reporter mocks Mitch McConnell for needing help with stairs, not realizing he survived polio

What about when Trump made fun of a disabled reporter?

They, many not all, made up excuses / deflection up the hoop.
Amazing the effect the New Messiah has had on truth and those willingly blinded by it, as they trip and fall running away from it.
Yes the truth can hurt

Re: CNN reporter mocks Mitch McConnell for needing help with stairs, not realizing he survived polio

A well known lie put forth by an unhinged left. Thanks for the example.

Bull crap all you have to do is look up the video

Re: CNN reporter mocks Mitch McConnell for needing help with stairs, not realizing he survived polio

Definitely a classless comment by the reporter.

Of course the problem with being a Trump supporter is you look like a hypocrite any time you try to point out someone else's disgusting behavior.

Nobody here thinks what the reporter did was excusable or defensible, whereas Republicans continue to whistle and look the other way, or defend him outright, any time Trump does something equally or more disgusting. It's really not a subtle distinction.

She did NOT mock his handicap, she said nothing about it, merely commented on two men holding hands.

****! Is there NOTHING the Trump crowd WON'T lie about?

That's true enough. There's certainly nothing to definitively say the reporter knew about McConnell's polio. This seems to be on the line of asking a fat woman when she'll be expecting.

But you are missing the point. Is it objectively right or wrong to mock someone with disabilities? Or is it bad when Trump does it and not when some lib does it? The point I a making is that the "Trump did it" therefore anything goes argument that the left is now employing only makes you guys look every bit as childish and stupid as he is. In short, you are becoming what you hate.

Afternoon

I believe she did, perhaps you missed this?
CNN reporter mocks Mitch McConnell for needing help with stairs, not realizing he survived polio | Fox News
A CNN colleague called out Diaz, quoting her tweet and explaining the situation. At the time this article was published, Diaz had not deleted the tweet. Daily Beast Senior Editor Andrew Kirell also asked what was going on in a since-deleted response.

“McConnell is a polio survivor, a reason why stairs can be tricky at times,” CNN's Senior Congressional Correspondent Manu Raju wrote. “McConnell often goes up a step at a time, sometimes needs railing for assistance. This time, used Trump for balance.”

The point is that Trump supporters did not condemn him when he made fun of a disabled person outright or bragged about committing sexual assault. Trump supporters have applied a standard where everybody else must loudly and repeatedly condemn the wrongdoings of anyone on their side, while they themselves need not condemn their own guy for making fun of a disabled reporter or bragging about committing sexual assault.

Thank you for another example sans facts.

You wish that was all you have to do.

Go a bit into the massive volumes of years of video and one can easily discern that he jokingly portrays general confusion in someone in the same manner regardless of who he is talking about.

There was no "making fun of handicapped" narrative except the one that was made up.

This is only relevant if one seeks actual provable truth.

If you dont like him ..there is no need to ginn up an excuse or to make up stuff.

Just say you dont like him..Thats enough.

Unless there's some followup comment by Diaz I'm not aware of, it doesn't really seem like she knew about the polio. From what I can see, what she committed was a gigantic "doh!" faux pas, to be sure, but not more than that.

I don't know the reporter in question so I don't know if Trump was mocking him or not. Do you have a clip of the reporter speaking so I can compare it to Trumps supposed mocking of him? Plus he didn't brag about committing sexual assault. He bragged that he could, not that he did.

Remember Trump and most all his supporters horking it up when Hillary attended a 911 event with pneumonia, was overcome and fainted?

Oh yeah. Good times, they had.

Don't even get me started on the "she has seizures" or that stupid look at her colostomy bag! bull ****.

Some of the same people here in this thread were guffawing to beat the band. Then.

Only those who are trolling pretend to deny that he made fun of a disabled person and bragged about committing sexual assault. I'm not playing your game. You also make my point that by not rejecting Trump for making fun of a disabled person and bragging about committing sexual assault, you're holding everybody to a standard you yourselves are not willing to live by.

How am I becoming what I hate? I've never advocated anyone making fun of people with disabilities, nobody should. What I'm saying is if we made a list of people guilty of that Trump would be near the top of the list, but this is the first we're hearing of it from the right. In essence, you and I agree. One's morals shouldn't change based on the political lean of the perpetrator.

Well he is old, from what I recall 76, perhaps she was in so much of a rush to tweet, that she did not consider as people age, stairs and such can be a problem.
And I do not even take polio into consideration.
Could be a back, knees, hips, injuries.
It was a scummy remark- CNN got hauled to the trashcan when they printed an incorrect story- they fired the head guy who had SFA to do with it.
CNN being a regular target of Trump and his Acolytes, also being held to a higher standard than FOX and other Conservative sites, should be briefing reporters, read that tweet twice, pause take a minute, read again, then if so, post it.
No doubt they are passing this along as we speak.

Re: CNN reporter mocks Mitch McConnell for needing help with stairs, not realizing he survived polio

As long as Trump is president, expect to lose every argument about everything because he is the biggest piece of **** imaginable and you guys defended him, you made him president, so enjoy.

He was not and the volumes of video speeches bears out that he jokingly portrays confusion in the exact same manner no matter who hes talking about.

This is a lie and another false narrative the left depend on to reinforce their unhinged hatred.

Its funny but I have an old college buddy that does the exact same thing when making a joke about someone confused. I thought it was a new york thing.

It's tactless and socially inept to be sure, don't get me wrong. But there's not an unsubtle difference between making fun of somebody knowing he's disabled, and making fun of somebody not knowing he's disabled.

True- I do not equate the 2- she may have learned a hard lesson for sure, hope she learns from this.
