Corker Says Trump's Threats Could Put The Nation 'On The Path To World War III'

Not on THIS site. WHEN antiTrumpers can’t even post intelligent comments that don’t include name-calling and juvenile insults? Why on EARTH would anyone listen? “Civility a Must” my Liily white ass.

What!?

You're saying that you shouldn't listen to people criticize Trump when they post unintelligent comments and name call, etc. We're talking about Trump. The poster boy of unintelligent behavior, speech, and juvenile insults. And not just for the opposition, or the entire news media, or the entire Republican establishment (i.e. career professionals). Also for his own choices...like Jeff Sessions, is former Chief of Staff, and now his Secretary of State. This is who he is, it's how he operates.

You do understand that when you post something like that, it seems so outrageous, so irrational, that one wonders if there is anything that can be said/done that would be relevant. Clearly if *reason* is thrown out the window, what tools do we have left MaggieD? We can ignore it, you, the presidency, etc., even though we most certainly CANNOT ignore the actions of the POTUS that affect our lives. Or we can use what few tools seem to fight fire with fire at this point.

Are you suggesting that we use intelligent, nuanced analysis and clinical condemnation of Trump instead? That's hilarious. It would also be foolish, it was tried all throughout the campaign ,and even the first few months of his presidency. But at some point, it was clear his supporters did not respond *at all* to that. No just "didn't respond", they opposed it tooth and nail. You do understand that right wing media specifically drives message with appeals to emotions, insults/attacks, etc., as a matter of policy right? I mean, the entire right wing media machine drives all of this into the mainstream, and they effectively got Trump, their poster child of those same qualities, elected.

But MaggieD wants us to to intelligently critique him and not insult him.... that boggles the mind. So yes, I've largely stopped posting in general as a result. When there is no hope of reason, I would be insane to continue assuming it may have an effect.

Saladin4:

President Trump has amply displayed his willingness to go into the gutter during public discourse. I had and still have higher hopes for Senator Corker and perhaps a forlorn hope for Mr. Trump to comport themselves in public with more decorum and grace. These vulgar displays demean the offices which these two men occupy and by extension the whole US Government. If they want to abuse each other, let them do it privately and not in public.

Cheers.
Evilroddy.

You actually had "hopes" about trump for more decorum and grace?????....Did you see the campaign?...or trump's obnoxious behavior for the last 30 years?

That's fair enough. I have largely stopped reading criticisms of him because they are irrational.

How do we rationally critique Trump though? I'm genuinely curious how you would see that play out. It had no effect.
Right wing media treats this as winner/losers. Allies vs scorched earth.

The entire point of scorched earth is if you are not an ally, you are burned to the ground by whatever means necessary. You think "rational" opposition somehow makes it better? There is no reasoned discourse than occur in such a situation. That's fine on a small scale, but this has reached the presidency, it's slightly alarming.

I'm not sure what your asking me. Rationale criticism is exactly what it means. Disagree with something he says or does, fine but don't make it out to be like it's the end of society as we know it kind of stuff.

Trump says wouldn't you like to see these sob players protesting fired and it gets spun into trump wants to do away with the 1st A and turn us into north korea. I can admit trump went a little far and pander ed to his audience but he certainly isn't taking it as far as he is being accussed.

The Left's criticisms of the president possess zero credibility.

LOL White like a snowflake? Why is it that saying "pffft" to any criticism of Trump is suddenly a debate tactic? I was responding to a comment that had nothing to add except he didn't care what anyone said about Trump. That is pretty ignorant don't you think?

Because criticism of President Trump became so idiotic.

I would never ever expect you to take my word for anything.

If we were in a bar and you said, "Look out! He has a gun!", I would take your word for that. Unless, you were always joking around about someone having a gun. See how that works?

Corker Says Trump's Threats Could Put The Nation 'On The Path To World War III'

This is the Republican Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations basically saying Trump is a loose canon pushing the US towards a possibly nuclear WWIII! Extraordinary doesn't even begin to describe this turn of events. Corker also said this morning that behind closed doors, most Republican Senators agree with him. Trump is so divisive and corrosive that his own party is approaching civil war. Trumps healthcare promises failed miserably and there is a good possibility that Trumps tax reforms will meet the same fate. It's refreshing to see a senior Senator with a GOP lapel pin standing up to the Twitter bully. That said, Corker pulls back the curtain on a sobering state of affairs, saying that a moderate Cabinet level faction withing the White House is a thin line standing between sanity and WWIII.

The World has been on a path to WWIII for some time now. We have a better chance of winning it now than we do 20-30 years down the road.

It appears you missed the point of my comment.

What i find really most shocking about this is how cowardly these career GOP politicians are. If Corker is right (and i assume he is because it's glaringly obvious that our president is unfit), then the GOP brass is forsaking national security for the sake of re-election prospects.

These career GOP hacks are knowingly steering us toward WW3 because they're afraid of losing their jobs.

Think about that for a minute. That's terrifying. And it's all because of cowardice.

Corker out kicking trump's ass...It's great!

How? All Corker has done is go on a radio show to whine and complain about Trump. "Well, he gave Trump what for, and said how terrible of a job he's doing, and this is someone from Trump's own party. Man, Trump's in trouble, now that he has been Corked." Yeah, just like all the other do nothing Establishment Republicans talking crap about him. It accomplished nothing other than confirming (what we already knew) that the Establishment are not going to work with Trump. So it was a total and utter waste of time that wasn't even news worthy. Honestly, if it was Corker's attempt to kick Trump's butt, I think he broke foot on it, doing no damage to Trump's bottom.

You do realize you just posted a very critical analysis of our president without calling him Tiny Hands, Orange Hair, idiotic, or Trump Ape, yes? I actually read it all the way through. ;)

It accomplished nothing other than confirming (what we already knew) that the Establishment are not going to work with Trump.

Oh stop. The house and senate have "not been working with Trump" since the start of his presidency. In contrast, Bob Corker telling it like it is, as a Republican senator, in opposition to the sitting Republican president, is pretty damning, and seems like a first to me. It is true that in a way it isn't news since we all know Trump is that bad and worse, and we all know nearly all sensible senators and representatives who have had to deal with him or watch his antics, feel the same way. That someone broke ranks and fessed up, is news worthy.

No one has been "working with Trump", except perhaps the Russians and the fringe right (Steve Bannon). Not dems, not republicans, not career professionals, not the house, and not the senate, not the media, not the courts, not basically the majority of the relevant world leaders except for Putin, not his business leaders that formed his business counsel, Flynn can't, Comey wouldn't play either....

His based sure does love him though, because he's standing up for the little guy (as he plays on the golf course he owns, like the common man of course).

Still trump seems angry about it...The Fat lady who is trump press person said Senator Corker is a bad man....and trump was mad and hurt

Well the majority of the world leaders are a bunch of dictators and communists, and they don't like opposition from anyone, just like people on the Left here in America so no surprise there either. "Oh, but a US Senator said how bad Trump was." Again, same with a bunch of other Establishment Senators. It's nothing new or groundbreaking. It has very little to no effect. Corker will probably lose his seat in the Senate anyway, so on his end, he may as well just say it. It goes the same with a bunch of other Establishment Republicans and Democrats.

Title says "Trump's threats" but the OP doesn't reference any threats.

What threats is the guy talking about?

Angry? No. Annoyed? Absolutely. Corker was hoping to be Trump's VP, but got the shaft. From what it seems, Corker is the one that seems hacked off because he's not getting what HE wants. I think he could care less about the people he represents, except his donors. Also, aren't Leftists suppose to be tolerant of a women's appearance, not matter how big or small they are? Calling Sarah Huckabee Sanders the "Fat Lady" seems pretty anti-woman... Oh wait, she doesn't wear revealing clothes like Wonder Woman nor wear men's clothing and looks like a butch. Also her hair color isn't blue like a lot of liberal feminists. However, the most important thing about her is she's not a Leftist, so if all else can be forgiven, unless if you are not part of the Leftist collective, then you are open game to be made fun of. Of course, if you say all women need protected and heard if such things occur, but again, I'm still floored that Leftists are just plain mean spirited and vile towards women than people on the Right. Just saying.

Sarah HuckFinn Sand Lady...Is that her name?....Whatever she is still overweight and obnoxious...A trump supporter concerned about women?....Sure

I thought according to the Left that's what a true woman looks like. What I mean is you'd like to see women modeled after Rosie O'Donnell. She's (more) overweight and (more) obnoxious, but you guys seem to have no problem with her. Anyway, getting back to being serious, with Sarah Huckabee Sanders, where is she obnoxious? I've never seen her mean spirited nor vile, other than respectful criticism, towards other people. You're just making stuff up now.

I think you're mad because this sad attempt of an attack on Trump, by Corker, failed miserably, and it's being brushed aside as nothing more than a minor nuisance. Also, the fact that women are a part of Trump's cabinet and there are many women supporters out there. So yeah, what you said was pretty mean spirited towards overweight women. Of course, I'd expect no less, based on that profile pic, from an Antifa member/sympathizer (or something to the equivalent to it) because they have no respect nor tolerance for anyone who disagrees with them on anything.

I watch her every WH press conference. At least Sean Spicer looked a bit embarrassed at times defending Trumps lies. Sanders has no such scruples. She defends all Trump lies and doubles down on them.

Corker is an establishment stooge, that gave us the terrible Iran deal. Wouldn't win again anyway. Good riddance to bad trash.
