Corker Says Trump's Threats Could Put The Nation 'On The Path To World War III'

Except that trump has never learned the lessons that come from failure

That is what he is especially good at....learning by doing.....Trump is an historically good learner.

But see the program here is to make sure that Trump fails at President so bad that America learns its lesson to never defy the elite again, no matter how badly America gets hurt in the processes.

It is working, just way slower than imagined, and America is taking a beating.

I made the call way back first of FEB that Trump had no chance.

Trump was not allowed the opportunity to do the job.

Yes, we really do suck that bad now.

WE USED TO BE BETTER

Why should I listen to bat**** crazy libs and establishment GOP hacks? Of course, in liberal lala land, Rocket Man bears no responsibility.

FYI, "dear leader" is a communist term, that's your side of the aisle. ;)

So is there any criticism of Trump that is valid? Because otherwise you have turned him into a king, no critcism of him is valid, therefore he can never be held accountable for his actions, therefore he may as well be a king.

GOP establishment hack and nevertrumper bashes Trump. In other news, water is wet.

The problem with that analysis is that Corker isn't a hack. He's rational, calm and respected. He has strong credibility in the Senate and throughout the national government, except now the WH. Trump's twitter insults against him are falling flat.

Come on, when such a luminary as countryboy calls a respected Senator a hack it must be so.

Corker's not a nevertrumper. He was one of the first to endorse Trump and wasn't one of the many who unendorsed him after the Billy Bush tapes. He took a spot on Trump's campaign and was considered for Vice President and Secretary of State.

Isn't it fascinating what happens when Congressmen arent staring at the bottomless pit of the primaries?

This is the Republican Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations basically saying Trump is a loose canon pushing the US towards a possibly nuclear WWIII! Extraordinary doesn't even begin to describe this turn of events. Corker also said this morning that behind closed doors, most Republican Senators agree with him. Trump is so divisive and corrosive that his own party is approaching civil war. Trumps healthcare promises failed miserably and there is a good possibility that Trumps tax reforms will meet the same fate. It's refreshing to see a senior Senator with a GOP lapel pin standing up to the Twitter bully. That said, Corker pulls back the curtain on a sobering state of affairs, saying that a moderate Cabinet level faction withing the White House is a thin line standing between sanity and WWIII.
This isn't really any revelation that the establishment GOP don't like trump. He was elected because he isnt one of them. Hopefully Trump can pick up more allies in the midterms. There isn't much he can do without congress supporting him. Of course he can veto everything they want to.

Always fun watching a liberal praise a conservative when it serves their political aspiration.

I am inclined to agree with Senator Corker's "concerns" about President Trump although the adult-daycare remark was not helpful. President Trump has got to get himself under control. Too many lives and livelihoods are dependant upon him doing the job he was elected to do well. Less golf and more sober reflection on what he is doing and planning to do is essential. I hope Mr. Trump can muster the will and self-discipline necessary to be President Trump.

Cheers.

Corker tweets are outrageous...Thankfully trump has never tweeted anything offensive...Has he?

So were was Corker when Obama said we could utterly destroy North Korea?

Saladin4:

President Trump has amply displayed his willingness to go into the gutter during public discourse. I had and still have higher hopes for Senator Corker and perhaps a forlorn hope for Mr. Trump to comport themselves in public with more decorum and grace. These vulgar displays demean the offices which these two men occupy and by extension the whole US Government. If they want to abuse each other, let them do it privately and not in public.

Cheers.

You could have regarded it as instructive rather than as fun. Like other non-ideological liberals I'm always happy to credit conservatives when I think credit is due. Wish I could do it more often. By contrast, it's typical of the hard Right to believe one shouldn't be caught dead praising anyone seen as an opponent to their ideological camp.

It's not that at all but I do find your praise of him dishonest. Your only doing it because he is bashing trump. I am more right than left but you will find I do agree with the left from time to time on actual issues and praise them for policy and criticize the GOP when they take bad policy positions. I am not so ebony you can box in to one ideology.

Kim Jong Un is such a trash talking tool. Unfortunately we have his doppelganger as our president.

Yes, I obviously did it because he was "bashing" Trump if by bashing you mean calling attention to the danger of Trump, which is what Corker was doing. How is that dishonest?

I found your characterization of him being calm, rational, and respected disingenuous. I don't believe you feel that way about him but because he was saying something about Trump you paid him false praise to boost his credibility in an attempt to validate his criticism of trump.

Why wouldn't I feel that way about him? He is all of those things. So are some other Republican senators rational, calm and respected. Do you imagine liberals believe all Republican office holders are irrational, unable to control their emotions and disrespected? The problem I and others have with many Republican office holders is not their individual personality makeups but their politics. Corker, for example, was wrong to have endorsed Trump in the first place since it was apparent from the beginning that Trump would be a dangerous President, and he was wrong to have voted, for example, on the terrible GOP health plan. But he was right in this recent criticism.
