Renae- Sadly it does not look good. Only 66 yeas old, and that to me is young. Great musician and that will always live on.

Yeah I know. Many a days underway with my music keeping me company, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers were an often played album. :(

Well ya ain't alone.

Comon, Tom! Hang in there!

TMZ is reporting he is off life support due to no brain activity. Priest has been called to room.

RIP to the man that inspired me to play guitar.

He's got a DNR, and his heart was stopped and he was not breathing for an unknown amount of time, and no comment on if CPR was performed before EMT's arrived.

I'm sad to say we are on a death watch.

I never got into Tom Petty--aside from The Waiting and Refugee. In fact it always annoyed me that he had his own channel on Sirius. But I hope he pulls through

Technically, Petty is still alive, but was taken off life support, and has no brain activity. For all intents and purposes, he has died, and his body will stop working very soon. At his age, I doubt if any parts of him will be good for transplants to other people, with the possible exception being Keith Richards.

He has actually now passed away.
