Why? What reason would I go berserk about it? in order to understand where you are coming from, what exactly is the result of someone getting unmasked by Nikki Haley?

The ostensible reason was ensuring that the NSA "didn't miss important information." Even if you accept this reason at face value, under the rules that Obama changed, the NSA filtered information before sharing it with other agencies, protecting innocent people's personal (and also often irrelevant) information. Call me old-fashioned, but I like protecting the privacy of innocent people.

We don't know. What I do know is this is a tailored made "scandal" to deflect from the true issue, the people that have all these contacts with a foreign government we know intervened in a US election.

You're trying to make this sound routine, when it isn't. Unmasking is a BFD! You have to have rationale for doing it, because Americans have rights.

Actually, that's NOT it.

Once those names are unmasked on the intel reports, anyone with access to those reports have the names. That means, even after Obama walks out of the WH, lots of left over Obama people had access and could leak intel info to the media.

Guess what happened...yep...leaks every single day.

Why would she need to unmask individuals if she already knew who they were? Did she leak information because I remember that it was Trump himself who let everyone know people he interacted with were tapped due to a FISA warrant.

So Powers unmasked the names so that people left in the WH AFTER Trump won the election and took over could leak reports of Trump associates having contact with Russian agents?

I want to at least understand what exactly the crime is.

Did they? Who was the leaker? It's a possibility but you are saying it like it's fact and using it to support other theories which are based on speculation as well.

What we know, someone has alleged that Powers asked the unmasking of individuals 260 times. That's it.

There is no crime for Trump associates having contact with Russians. What the leaks did, however, is give the media the opportunity to release a flood of leaks and spin it all into something it wasn't.

In any case, what she did was for political purposes and is against the law...same with Obama's relaxing of the intel access rules. Those two, and others, should go to jail for their crimes.

No, it's not a crime of contacting the Russians but it's both highly suspect and borderline illegal not to disclose these contacts.

They both don't just talk about the weather with their Russian associates, they lobbied on behalf of them for pretty large ventures.


I'm not sure how these dealings are brushed away but man, lets throw the whole Obama white house in jail for doing something legal based on no evidence that they used it politically.
