I disagree. I undoubtedly travel in different circles than you, but most of my friends and people I know were rabid NFL fans. No more.
The few is now 200.
If, as you say, NFL attendance is falling for other reasons, it makes no sense to alienate your fan base with non football related protests.
My guess is that this will go down as far as % effect goes similar to the % of rabid Trump supporter who burned their MAGA bras, err hats when he made a deal with the dems. Could be wrong...
Either sports transcends politics or vice versa.
I've been watching football basketball and baseball (especially) players do Christian gestures during games as long as I can remember. Never bothered me. Muslims wouldn't bother me either, even though I personally think all of these outside issues/displays should be aired elsewhere.
