Trump's recent tweets supporting Luther Strange deleted

President Donald Trump's most recent tweets urging Alabamians to vote for Sen. Luther Strange disappeared from his verified Twitter account Tuesday night after the candidate was projected to lose the Republican primary runoff for a Senate seat.

Three recent Trump tweets about Strange were deleted Tuesday night, according to ProPublica, which tracks deleted tweets.

This came shortly after Strange appeared headed for a loss, despite Trump's efforts to help the candidate.

The deleted tweets had touted Trump's personal endorsement of Strange.

On Tuesday morning, Trump had tweeted: "ALABAMA, get out and vote for Luther Strange - he has proven to me that he will never let you down! #MAGA"
Earlier in the morning, Trump had tweeted: "Luther Strange has been shooting up in the Alabama polls since my endorsement. Finish the job - vote today for 'Big Luther.'"

On Monday night, Trump had tweeted: "Big election tomorrow in the Great State of Alabama. Vote for Senator Luther Strange, tough on crime & border - will never let you down!"

Those three tweets were deleted Tuesday after Roy Moore appeared to have beaten Strange. Strange conceded shortly after 8:30 p.m. local time, 9:30 p.m. ET.

Trump is apparently inspired by authoritarian regimes who have used such measures in the past. Those of us old enough probably remember the Soviet May Day parades and how periodically the pictures of those on the main dais were edited to get rid of people who had fallen out of favor with the leader but were once dear to him. Trump appears to be doing much the same thing. No doubt weeks from now it will even be denied that he supported Strange at all.

The horror! Were you equally upset when Bernie supporters switched over to become Hillary supporters? It is not at all uncommon for party members and even party leaders to align with their party's primary election winner even if they previously expressed a preference for a primary loser.

I think we both know that the OP wasn't taking aim Trump now indicating support for Moore, rather, it was taking aim at Trump's need to erase the fact that he had ever supported Strange.

You bring up Bernie. But Bernie never tried to scrub the internet of reports that he had ever contended for the nomination, so, so much for that comparison.

A few tweets are deleted and because of that Trump is apparently inspired by authoritarian regimes. What a damn hoot!
Notice if you ever deleted a tweet you are a authoritarian. You bad, bad person! :)
Apparently some are not very informed about politics and what that means.

So they were wiped... like with a cloth?

Many swapped their Bernie signs for Hillary signs after the primary so it is an entirely valid comparison. You, I and nearly everyone knows that Trump had supported Strange so your idea that Trump thinks that he can erase history is a figment of your imagination.

Do you just not respond to a point when it undercuts your argument?

This isn't about Trump switching support. This is about Trump acting like he never did support Strange. Bernie never acted like he had never challenged Hillary when he switched.

Dishonest comparison, now that you've reiterated it while ignoring the problem.

You're right, it's nitpicking to trash Trump for this. The guy apparently divides the world into winners and losers and this is at most a part of that neurosis. No biggee...

I can tell you with all honesty that I have NEVER deleted a tweet.

Well that's pretty good otherwise people would call you an authoritarian!

Nobody ever said that is what made one an authoritarian.

Trump, who has exhibited many authoritarian tendencies, borrowed a technique from the authoritarians as shown by the Soviets.

OK... We will have to keep an eye on President Trump.

The victims suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrom have really been pushing "soviet Russia" links lately. Must have gotten new talking points from the DNC to tone down the ridiculous Trump=Nazi rhetoric and escalate the Trump/Russia connections. Is fun watching the liberals spew their party talking points in real time.

Pretty sad when that's all you have to support Don with, don't ya think? All a partisan knows to do is partisan attacks. Party is for fools.

This is about trying to cover tracks and rewrite history. Nice failed attempt to redirect the thread though.
