Saudi Arabia allows women to drive, in historic move

This decision to allow women to drive will backfire. The society of Saudi is increasingly becoming consumerist and less traditional. Imitating the European West where the traditional family no longer exists and gender roles are considered “sexist” is not making progress. Each nation should be true to itself and not blindly follow Europe. The purpose behind banning women from driving was to encourage women to be house wives and moms. Now that they can drive they will become more modern like European women and gradually the society will begin to rot.

But as an apocalypticist I know that the Saudi regime is doomed and will collapse very soon, as our Mahdi is about to emerge very soon from Mecca and the Saudi regime in Arabia will soon be replaced by a Mahdist regime, which will be purely Islamic, messianic and Godly.

Too bad that SA women dont want to ONLY stay home and serve a husband and raise kids. SA men could do the same, they might even enjoy that time with their families.

SA women, like all women (as a gender, not individuals) wish to explore their own strengths and potentials out in the world...and thus gift their children with additional examples of work ethics, success, opportunities, etc. And to limit women is to miss out on what they can contribute...just like that have elsewhere in business, science, athletics, etc....the entire population, even the world, may miss out on that.

In a society where slave labor is widespread (almost every family has 'servants' from other countries), women are definitely freed up to do both, be a mother and a breadwinner.

GUess you missed where I wrote I didnt necessarily agree with changing the standards. Instead of copying what I write, read better.

So, are you still arguing that women and men are equal even though they have two different standards for qualification?

Yup. Men and women are equal...in the US. It's an abstract concept, used legally in the US...guess you dont get that?

"Same" can be quantified (and they're not)

They only changed the law because of massive international pressure, not really from internal activism. It means that foreign pressure can work on SA over time, and in certain areas. I think they're not really going to change their oppressive ways until the world no longer needs them economically, and we can finally embargo them for being such a violent and cruel government.

I mean really, do they want a pat on the back for changing a law that never should've existed in the first place?

We should take this as a sign that SA is progressive, at all.

I think we'd all be better of with slaves, no? Jeebus.

So different standards for the same job make them equal? That isn't the same, that isn't equal. One job...one standard.

Still not able to read properly I see. Carry on.

Well here in America we have the right to create a well regulated militia so im suprised women havent made their own infantry yet. I dont think they realize they can do that yet. Everyone has the right to self defense. We are equal in dignity.

"Encourage" = strip them of all their rights as independent human beings. Got it.

Every think that maybe.. juuust maybe. With todays technology... and tomorows. The standards of what is NEEDED have possibly shifted? Just a little bit. A female can pull the trigger just as good as a male and thats sorta the main requirement.

Would you want a 140 pound male in combat? Or a 200 pound female with 8% bodyfat?

How much of the population do each of those occupy?
