Less than two weeks before Donald Trump accepted the Republican presidential nomination, his campaign chairman offered to provide briefings on the race to a Russian billionaire closely aligned with the Kremlin, according to people familiar with the discussions.

...Break...

The notes appear to be written in deliberately vague terms, with Manafort and his longtime employee, Konstantin Kilimnik, never explicitly mentioning Deripaska by name. But investigators believe that key passages refer to Deripaska, who is referenced in some places by his initials, “OVD,” according to people familiar with the emails. One email uses “black caviar,” a Russian delicacy, in what investigators believe is a veiled reference to payments Manafort hoped to receive from former clients.
In one April exchange days after Trump named Manafort as a campaign strategist, Manafort referred to his positive press and growing reputation and asked, “How do we use to get whole?”

And people are still calling this a big nothing burger? Stuff like this is still coming out weekly. Russia had it's tentacles all over the Trump campaign. Hopefully they didn't get too much information out of them and hopefully anyone that's been compromised is out. But I doubt it.

the longer time goes forward (until which time Orange Cheeto nukes the entire planet) the more RussiaGate news & facts will continue to leak outta the investigations and devour the nothing burgers ...........

He did PR and image consulting for a Russian Oligarch over a decade ago, so its not only a nothing burger, its nonsense.

Manafort has challenged Mueller to release everything they think they have on him, doesnt sound like he's too worried at all

Lobbying for Russian interest back in 2005 is hardly the scandal you think it is, besides, Podesta lobbied for a Russian Bank for the removal of various Obama era sanctions.

But the Left didnt have a problem with it for some reason...I wonder why ?

This isn't about what he did 10 years ago. This is about him offering private briefings on the campaign to high level Russian Oligarchs in the present. And btw, lots of people say "release everything" when they know that it would never be released like that. It's a stupid statement made to act tough. No special prosecutor would ever put all of his evidence out in the open in the middle of the investigation.

Your post is a nothing bu deflection. Try to stay with the OP.

True enough
But some lap that up like mothers milk. Oh next he will challenge Mueller to a duel.
I think we will see a duel, but it will be in court.

Yep, the more Mueller digs, the dirtier the Trump campaign looks.

But it won't matter to the Trumpsters, there will be page after page of 'Whataboutisms' from Trump apologists now trying to divert Trump's dirty campaign to 'what about Obama', and 'what about the Dems', and the biggie with the rabid right, 'what about Hillary', , etc.

Admittedly I was worried about that at one point but now it's very apparent that Russia has infiltrated the trump regime to the point that they have the daily real codes and he is walking.around.with a ha ha note...

Since I'm in the mood to play devil's advocate, I'd like to point out that while offering to brief a Russian advocate during the campaign looks bad, Manifort didn't actually do it. This is still vague and open to speculation. Mueller needs facts. He's still digging for them. It'll take a while.

Supposedly he didn't do it.

And secondly, of course it still needs to be investigated. With good reason. All of this just goes to show that the entire campaign at the very least was lying through their teeth when they pretended that they had no contacts and had no idea that the Russian government was supporting Trump.

For me the lying is the biggest red flag. Consciousness of of guilt and all that.

The Middle of the investigation ? This investigation has been going on for over a year now, and not a shred of evidence has been produced or leaked.

The only real evidence of a scandal thats being produced lateky is the Obama administrations surveillance of a opposition candidate and his camaign staff and the unmasking of hundreds of people by Obama aides Susan Rice and Samantha Powers.

Manafort was wiretapped, ( even though James Clapper denied it back in March ) which means his meetings with this Oligarch were most likely recorded along with his meetings with Trump

That means if there was any real proof it would have been leaked months ago.

To them, the crimes Trump actually committed will never be as bad as the crimes they imagine Hillary did and would've done.

An anonymous source claims there was a meeting, that doesn't seem to happen, proving collusion by substituting what was actually said for secret code words to prove their point.

Pretty low standards of journalism and searching our facts verse theories.

Over a year- yes and no- Mueller's investigations have taken new roads and for those he was only appointed 17 May.

The only real evidence of a scandal thats being produced lateky is the Obama administrations surveillance of a opposition candidate and his camaign staff and the unmasking of hundreds of people by Obama aides Susan Rice and Samantha Powers.

Hundreds, are you sure, do you have links?
Unmasking legally done and has nothing to do with the OP or the investigations of which Mueller has many ongoing. Well except for Trumps Water Boy Chaffetz.

Manafort was wiretapped, ( even though James Clapper denied it back in March ) which means his meetings with this Oligarch were most likely recorded along with his meetings with Trump

IIRC he (Clapper) could not comment in a public forum on surveillance and with good reason- you do know why right?
In case you do not as it is clear you do not understand. He could be criminally charged. Seems you have an issue determining what is and is not legal???

That means if there was any real proof it would have been leaked months ago.
No leaks mean nothing- but from the leaks we have seen so far, Flynn fired, trumps lies about communications with Russia, lies over Comey's firing, to name a few

Investigations aren't supposed to produce evidence to the public. They are for investigating purposes. And yes, we are in the middle of the investigation. Whether you like the time frame or not means literally nothing.

The only real evidence of a scandal thats being produced lateky is the Obama administrations surveillance of a opposition candidate and his camaign staff and the unmasking of hundreds of people by Obama aides Susan Rice and Samantha Powers.

False. You are just assuming everything is being leaked. There's a very good chance that actual proof of a conspiracy etc. would be locked up tighter than other minor details. This talking point that "we'd know about it by now" is just that, a talking point. It means nothing. The investigation goes on and they are apparently finding more and more every week. I think that scares you a bit more than you are letting on.

What crimes did Trump commit?
