California suing Trump over border wall, escalating battle with White House

Yes. I don't believe they should be defined by walls, however.

I also believe policy should be based upon empirical evidence and not impressions of truth, the latter usually manufactured.
Ok, so if we have borders, do we have the right to enforce them?

Right now, illegals have to take jobs under the table. They are after all, not legally allowed to work here. But you make them legally allowed to work and they don't have to take waitress jobs, gardening jobs... They can take jobs assembling cars, at Amazon warehouses, manufacturing plants. They will have work permits. As for the Americans that lose out to them... Too bad. Check your American privilege at the door.

Think about this... What happens to the Democrat party if they lose the unions?

There's always the victimhood business.

President Trump has been showing that he's on the side of the working man. If the unions swing his way, that's the end of the Democrat Party as a national party.

Being in the country (yes, even in CA) in violation of federal immigration law is a deportable offense. The nonsense that each state gets to decide what added state/local offenses are required to make federal law enforceable within their borders is insane. What is next - only those that violate some "serious" state/local law are required to pay federal income tax?

EDIT: Since you "work in the criminal justice system" (wax the floors in the courthouse?) you just might be aware of the concept of reciprocity whereby criminal offenses committed in one jurisdiction are honored by LEOs in all jurisdictions. Being a fugitive from FL or TX does not grant you immunity in CA and vice versa and that is a good system preventing successful flight to avoid prosecution to be a common occurrence.

Article IV, Section 2, paragraph 2

The scenarios that you pose are completely different. People who are deployed overseas are gone temporarily...they return...it doesn't break up the family. Same with incarceration.
The deportee only need file and attain proper documentation to re enter, then their situation is temporary as well. I don't see a difference

I can't wait for illegals to attain voting rights and vote out the Pelosis and and the Boxers.

The fact remains that Trump, running for office the first time ever beat a lifelong politician speaks volumes.

The fact that he can barely beat a life long politician whose name is synonymous with the devil for half the populace does say a lot.

Are you accusing me of making up what my neighbors look like? That's really lame. BTW I have mentioned before that my neighbors are Mexican, and we celebrated Thanksgiving together. I have mentioned celebrating Ramadan and Eid many times on this board, so again, my friends and neighbors are not Trump supporters.
I'm simply stating a fact. I have no way of knowing who your neighbors are..but, taking your word for it, why would they need your "protection"??

Wait, so some laws are okay to break and we should look at those married with families differently than people who are single? I mean, if we arrest Jose for being an illegal and deport him because he is single but we let Philipe stay because he's married with two kids, isn't that a bit of discrimination? How about this idea... If you come here illegally, you need to worry about being deported. If you hire illegals, you need to worry about being prosecuted. We already have these laws on the books, let's enforce them.

And if it hurts the feelings of the bed wetting liberals, too bad. They can sneak across the border going south... I hear Mexico is real tolerant of that.

So every time they raid a workplace the owners/operators are hauled away as well? I don't think so. Maybe they could set up stings in Home Depot parking lots. You could nab lots of contractors that way. And FYI, Law Enforcement makes judgment calls every day, from who gets a ticket to DA's choosing who to prosecute. Sometimes based on how cute you are or who your daddy is.

I wish my home depot had contractors.

I got news for ya...Donald Trump IS POTUS, like it or not, he IS your President

I got news for you..... I don't give a damn. Nobody who attacks POWs---especially somebody who said avoiding STDs was "his Vietnam"--- is my president.

Is this said in the tone of voice of a 4 year old who is refused the Ding Dong he wants for afternoon snack blurting out "YOU ARE NOT MY MOMMY!"?

Because California recognizes that breaking up families shouldn't be done arbitrarily. Someone in County Jail for failure to pay a subway ticket may have a wife and children who are US Citizens. Deporting the father may not be in the best interest of the family and the community. California prefers to look at it on a individual basis. Certainly the criminal who commits a robbery or an ADW should be deported....even if it breaks up a family...but it shouldn't be arbitrary.

So is there evidence that California is categorizing people and what those categories may be for whom they identify to the Feds?

Considering the fact that you don't live in the real world, but rather the bubble of victim culture you have created, to be frank you have no room to talk.

We want protection from Trump's campaign promises. We don't want muslims banned or registered. We don't want Trump to remove our Visas and slam the door on our immigration process because of where we born.

I don't respect him regardless of the house he resides he. During his campaign he said wanted to ban and register a religious group. He will never have my respect, nor can I respect the action of casting a ballot for him.

But you HAVE to respect Trumples. Didn't everyone respect Obama? ;)

Its not that simple. I think you know that.

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking...but if I understand you correctly....yes...there is a list of offenses that are considered "Crimes of moral turpitude" and "Aggravated Offenses" for which are "deportable offenses" based on the class of crime. People who are convicted of those offenses are turned over to ICE.

Actually, they don't even have to raid the place. In Georgia we passed a state law making it illegal to hire an illegal. The Obama Administration sued us.

Its not that simple. I think you know that.

What's not that simple...Of course it is....Look, you are arguing for enforcing law on a selective basis. You think that because these people have compelling stories, that we should look at it emotionally and not enforce the law on some, but go ahead and enforce it on others....That's not how the law works...If you want amnesty, then just say it....and work with congress for it...Other than that, they are currently breaking the law. It IS that simple.

Respecting the man is one thing, respecting the office another. During his campaign he said nothing different than what the Obama administration categorized as countries that were most likely to have terrorist flow into the US from. This is who Trump was talking about and you know it....

I am increasingly tired of having to tip toe on egg shells around Muslims, trying to pick this one, or choose that one as to how to guess who among them is most likely to hold terrorist sympathies, when there are polls out there that show that more often than not, a good number of Muslims are at the least silent when it comes to calling out the animals within their midst....It is only AFTER something horrible happens that they come out with a Taqiyya statement of regret.

As for the voters that voted for Trump, or against Hillary for whatever reason, and your respect of them, or disrespect, all I can say, is what in your attitude helps anything? Not everyone does think, or will think like you do, or agree with you...Your Quran says "... and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice." Does it not? Your Hadith states: "...you will not believe until you love each other... spread the peace among each other" Does it not? So, I would say that the disrespect you feel for others that don't think as you do, is a flaw that may be a hindrance to your own peace.
