Sad news. RIP Harry Dean, you were always cool and you lived a good life. :(

One of my absolute favorite actors. Paris Texas is a masterpiece, and Harry is never better. But, loved him in Big Love, Repo Man, and dozens more. A wonderfully talented man who lived his life his way.

Rest in Peace. i immediately thought of The Green Mile. his performance was one of the most memorable parts of the movie.

And 91? He was living on credit for a good long time. I hope his later years were free of the pains of aging.

One of the oddest things about him is that he LOVED to sing. YouTube is replete with examples of this, from ad-libbing with Art Garfunkel to covering Willie Nelson.

There's nothing quite as grand as an older guy breaking in a new guy, telliing him about the 'code' that repo men follow, while driving on east Hollywood Boulevard and snorting meth rails in the front seats.

yeah he and my late father were almost the same age-both born in 26. I didn't see RepoMan but he was great in Escape from NY among other things. Pretty in Pink I thought he was really good. I love Kelly's Heroes but I really cannot recall his roll in what is one of my favorite WWII films

Oh, and he was fantastic in the only good film that Wim Wenders ever made.

I love German cinema and directors, esp. Werner Herzog, but Winders just, well, meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh......

First thing I saw from him was Wings of Desire that I hate so passionately it may have colored my vision of his other (ahem) 'work'.

aguirre is one of my all time favorites. I went and googled W2 but none of his stuff looks familiar. I just remember his name for some reason. oh well.

Dood had an amazing career. First time I saw him was in Kelly's Heroes. Always a fav.

Sorry to hear Harry passed away. What an amazing career he had...over 200 movies. I think my favorite or at least what I remember him most by was "Paris, Texas" and "Repo Man".

RIP Harry....and tell Sam Shepard I said "hi".

Longtime favorite actor of mine.

RIP Harry

He does pretty much everything well, but his documentaries are unique and out of this world (Herzog, not W2).

Happy People and the one about the cave paintings in FR are amazing.

"Ain't that right, Willard?"

"Damn right!"
